3 Places I Love to Take My Kids in Columbus: Jeanyne Jakubowski:

1. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

We love this large zoo with an aquarium toward the back. One of our favorite activities is the petting zoo with goats. The zoo offers brushes that you can use to pet the goats and they just walk around you. We like to go early when the park opens to get a zoo parking spot and avoid the crowds. In the summer, their sister park, Zoombezi Bay, opens and included large water slides perfect to tire older kids or husbands.

2. Center Of Science and Industry

COSI is great for older kids who love and have an interest in learning and viewing different traveling exhibits. Since we have a toddler, we head to the upstairs and play in the play area designated for little people. Outside there is also a small play area where little ones can run and climb. When the weather gets nice, COSI also hosts lots of outdoor activities.

3. Short North

Short North offers a variety of places that we love to go for brunch, lunch or dinner. We typically will go for brunch/lunch and, if the weather is nice, walk around with a stroller/wagon checking out new eateries. If you want to go to Short North for dinner be prepared to wait for seating or call ahead for reservations. We’ve had past experiences with restaurants being full and wasting time going from restaurant to restaurant seeking a table. So take a tip from me, call ahead!
