On the last Friday of each month, COSI offers extended hours (open until 9PM!) and price reduced admission to families so you can visit, learn, and play late! General admission Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for youth and includes all of COSI’s permanent exhibitions plus a movie in the National Geographic Giant Screen Theater! (Free for members.)

4. Open Lab at The Simplr STEAM Playground

Kids ages 5-14 can explore the Simplr STEAM Playground with guidance from instructors on site. This is an open play time where kids can check out the latest gadgets, robots, LEGOs, 3D printing, Minecraft and more! Children can be dropped off and picked up by 7:00 PM. Cost is $15 for non-members and $12 for members.

5. Parent’s Night Out at We Rock the Spectrum – Columbus

14. First Responder Face Off at The Schottenstein Center

The Columbus Fire Department battles the Columbus Police Department in this hockey face off! Your ticket is good for this game AND Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. Ticket sales benefit the First Responder Face-Off Foundation. In addition, there will be a display of emergency and SWAT vehicles, K9 and horse mounted patrol and more in the Northeast Plaza of the Schottenstein Center. Tickets are available online.

The Ohio Cup features over 30 teams from all over the US who come to Ohio Village for one of the largest vintage base ball festivals in the nation! There will also be fun games for the kids, dancing, a barbershop quartet, food trucks, rides in a Ford Model A, blacksmith demonstrations and the chance to try out base ball for yourself! It’s also First Friday this weekend at Ohio History Center featuring the movie A League of Their Own. All activities are included with general admission or membership.

Headquartered in Columbus, Highlights is celebrating it’s 70th Anniversary Issue with a new documentary called 44 PAGES. Activities start at 2:00 PM and the movie will be shown at 3:00 PM, followed by a Q&A.

Explore the caverns with just a flashlight! Children must be at least 8 years old to participate and flashlights will be provided. This is a limited tour of the caverns and online reservations are required (click here)! 16. Movies in the Park at Highbanks Metro Park

Location:  Big Meadows Picnic Area, 9466 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035

Enjoy a free screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on the outdoor screen. There will be costumed characters and opportunities to learn about the science behind the movie! Bring a chair or a blanket!

17. Bob Evans Family Day at Columbus Clippers

When: Sunday, September 3, 2017
Time: 4:05 PM
Location: 330 Huntington Park Ln, Columbus, OH 43215

Family Day Admission ($15) is good for two Adults and up to four youth 18 and under to Bleachers, Lawn, or Standing Room. Reserved seating is $25. Kids can run the bases in the 10TV Commit to be Fit Fun Run after the game!

18. UA Labor Day Arts Festival in Northam Park

When: Monday, September 4, 2017
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: 2070 Northam Rd, Upper Arlington, OH 43221

The Upper Arlington Arts festival is held in Northam Park and features around 200 local, regional and national artists. There is also live entertainment, vendors, art activities and food available for purchase! Admission is free!
