Ah summer…no school, warm days and long nights. Although the list of potential activities seems never ending, it’s always a good idea to have a fool-proof plan in your back pocket for those days when the kids say “I’m bored,” the rain ruins your outing or you just want to kick up your feet and RELAX!

That’s where Marcus Theatres comes to the rescue.  With two local theatres, the Marcus Crosswoods Cinema in Columbus and the Marcus Pickerington Cinema in Pickerington, there is plenty of affordable (and free!) family fun on tap all summer long. Kids Dream Summer Film Series (Crosswoods and Pickerington Cinemas)

The Kids Dream Summer Film Series presented by American Family Insurance brings recent family favorites back to the big screen for an admission price of just $3 per person. Better yet, popcorn and fountain drinks are only $2.75 each! All films will play now through August 14 on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Free Family Parties (Crosswoods Cinema)

Heads to the Crosswoods Cinema for free family parties to celebrate the opening of this summer’s biggest films. Pro tip: they are come as you please and a great way to burn off extra energy before or after the movie!

1. Orchids at Franklin Park Conservatory

This is the last weekend for Orchids at Franklin Park Conservatory! Thousands of orchids and tropical plants are on display with an Art Deco theme! On Saturday, you can see the Millennium Academy of Irish Dance perform traditional Irish Step Dancing!

2. Cowgirls Don’t Ride Zebras with CATCO is Kids

This weekend kicks off the Kids Dream Family Film Series going on through April 9! This week’s film is Kung Fu Panda 3! 5. First Friday Film Series at Ohio History Center

16. Decorate Diaper Donation Boxes for No Child Wet Behind with Columbus Kids Do Good

In support of the No Child Wet Behind Diaper Drive and Family Fun 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk/Run, you can bring the whole family to help decorate diaper donation boxes that will be dropped off to donation locations around Columbus! There are 40 boxes to be decorated! This is also an opportunity to bring a pack of diapers to donate! If Sunday night doesn’t work, a similar event is happening on Monday night!
