All Weekend

All week – All You Can Eat Pancakes at IHOP – Need brunch plans? Sunday is the last day for all you can eat pancakes at IHOP!

All weekend – Peter Pan presented by Ballet Met – several performances take place this weekend at Ohio Theatre!

12:00 PM – Columbus Blue Jackets Open Practice – head down to Winter Park (across from Nationwide Arena) to see the Blue Jackets practice for free!

Saturday, February 11, 2017

9:30 AM – $5 Saturdays at piccadilly – Open play is only $5 on Saturday mornings!

10:00 AM – Bracelet Making at Wild Sage Collective – kids 4 and up can make 2 bracelets and 2 gift boxes. Must register in advance.

10:00 AM – Be My Valentine Party at piccadilly – crafts and treats are included with regular admission!

10:00 AM – PBJ & Jazz at Lincoln Theatre – kids get a PB&J lunch while everyone enjoys a kid-oriented jazz concert!

10:00 AM – Make Valentines at Picassos – come make a valentine during Open Studio time!

11:00 AM – Circle of Love! Wreath at Lakeshore Learning – make a free heart wreath! Ages 3 and up.

11:00 AM – Heart Valentines and Cookies at Franklin Park Conservatory – make Valentines and decorate cookies! $1 per cookie.

11:00 AM – 2nd Anniversary at Diamond’s Ice Cream – everything will be buy one get one half off!

1:00 PM Snow Day Cbus 2017 at Genoa Park – have a snowball fight in the park (no snow required!), there will be food trucks, music and an art project! This event is for all ages and admission is free.

12:00 PM – Spider-Man Roller Skate Glow Party at Skate Zone 71 – Spider Man will make a special appearance at Skate Zone 71! Wear Spider Man gear for a special discount!

1:00 PM – Valentine’s Princess Tea at Studio J: Sing Paint Play – several times are available for a princess tea! Make a jewelry box or treasure chest (boys are welcome too) and search for jewels!

1:30 PM – Make & Take Valentines at Naturally Curious Kids – drop in from 1:30 – 3:00 to make a free Valentine!

2:00 PM – Share the Love! Valentine Making at Bexley Public Library – drop in to make a Valentine in the Youth Services Department!

3:00 PM – Hubbard Lantern Festival at Hubbard Mastery School – the community is invited to this free festival which includes crafts, balloon art, wonton making, and more! Ajumama Food Truck will be on site!

3:30 PM – Birthday Kits for Broad Street Food Pantry with Seeds of Caring – help pack and decorate birthday kits to give out to local families through the Broad Street Food Pantry! There will be the opportunity to talk about hunger in our community with your kids.

3:30 PM – Family Clay Day: Ceramic Love Plaque at Art With Anna – the whole family can learn how to make a ceramic heart plaque! Ages 6 and up.

All Day – Buy One Get One Valentine’s Day Sundaes at Graeter’s Ice Cream – buy one sundae get one at equal or lesser value for free all day!

3:00 PM Parent & Child Date Night at Coffee Connections of Hilliard – take your child on a “date” for ice cream sundaes and unlimited hot chocolate!

3:30 PM – Valentine’s Day Skate Party at Skate Zone 71 – special $2 entrance fee when you wear red!

5:00 PM – Kids Club Valentine’s Day Dinner at Chick-fil-A on Sawmill –  enjoy dinner and an Intentional Acts of Kindness activity! There will be live music and a valentine treat plus a special $25 meal deal for the family!

6:00 PM – Valentine’s Day Carriage Rides at Easton – $10 per adult, kids 15 and under are free with a paying adult!

Indoor Programs for Toddlers and Preschoolers in Columbus: Winter 2017

If you’re trying to survive winter with a toddler or preschooler, I’m with you! I’ve already started looking forward to summer, which is a dangerous thing to start doing at the beginning of January. But never fear, Columbus has so many indoor options for keeping toddlers busy! Here’s what’s going on this winter:

Little Adventurers at Franklin Park Conservatory – Thursdays at 10:30 AM – this is program for ages 3-5 with nature-themed stories and activities.

Pre School and Parent/Child Classes at Columbus Recreation and Parks – Registration for Winter Session opened January 3rd.  There are pages and pages of classes available for your young children and many of them are free or at an extremely low cost!

Pre School Open Gym at Dublin Rec Center – Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM  for ages 6 months to 6 years. Check the link for several other toddler programs at the Dublin Rec Center!

Toddler Theater

Toddler Theater at Abbey Theater of Dublin – select Wednesdays from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM – recommended for ages 2-5, this is an interactive performance by Marlene Hartzler. Kids are encouraged to join her on stage to sing and dance! Often there is a special costumed visitor who joins in the fun!

Toddler Story Time at Columbus Metropolitan Library, Main Library – Tuesdays from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM – There are so many toddler and pre-K story times going on in the CML system. Make sure to check the link to search for your closest branch or explore a new one!

Grandview Library

Tales for Toddlers at Grandview Library – Tuesdays from 10:15 AM – 10:45 AM – story time for ages 18-36 mos. Check the link for all the other story times for young children going on this winter!

Toddler Time at Westerville Rec Center – Fridays from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – this is a drop in program for ages Kindergarten and under and their caregivers. The time includes play and crafts!

Pee Wee Play Gym at Westerville Rec Center – Mondays from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM – this play time is a drop in program for ages 3 and under accompanied by an adult!

Little Explorers Base Camp at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – this is a free, drop in program where preschoolers and toddlers can learn and explore!

Curious Kids at The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology – drop in preschool program on Tuesdays from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM – free with admission or membership! See the link for the weekly schedule and themes!

Winter Classes at piccadilly – classes are available for babies through preschoolers in things like Messy Art, Storybook Art, Squats and Tots and more! Drop in or sign up for a series!

Toddler Thursdays at Magic Mountain – from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM kids can have unlimited KidsGym for just $2.50!

Scioto Audubon

Pre-K Storytime at Scioto Audubon – Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:00 AM – this time features nature stories for ages 3-5. Check the link for many other ongoing toddler and preschool programs at Columbus Metro Parks.

Mr. Eric’s Music at Firefly Cafe – 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:30 AM – a fun singing time with Mr. Eric is included with admission to the play cafe!

My Very First Art Class! Toddler Art at Zen Kidz Play Cafe – Thursdays – several classes are available throughout the morning for parents and children together!

Toddler Time at Get Air – this special toddler jump time is available on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM!

Toddler Time special with Get Air and Tree of Life Play Cafe – on Wednesdays and Thursdays, these neighboring businesses offer a special price to play at both locations!

Babytime and Tales for Twos and Threes at Worthington Libraries – lots of story times available for toddlers almost every day of the week!

Drop-in Preschool Storytime at Westerville Library – Monday and Thursday mornings from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – singing, books, instruments and more for ages 3-6!

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

Metro Parks Preschool Programs – at least seven of the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks have regular preschool programs that are free to attend! Most are for ages 3-5. Click the link to see the upcoming schedule at any given time and drop in!

Pre-K Classes at The Little Gym of Polaris – Gymnastics, sports and music and movement classes are available to engage the little ones and keep them moving!

Toddler/Preschool Enrichment classes at Studio J: Sing Paint Play – these classes are for kids age 1-5 and include stories, songs, instruments, art projects and more!

It’s Final Friday in downtown Newark and the Kid’s Fest will feature a petting zoo, bounce house, snow cones, a magic show and more! At dusk, the movie Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! will be shown!

3. Railroad Open House at Preservation Parks

Visit the Big Walnut Community Trailhouse to see model train displays by the The Delaware County Model Railroaders! The open house is free!

7. Galena Summerfest

Stroll down Grandview Avenue during the end of summer Block Party! This will be the last Grandview Hop of the summer! Check out street vendors, art, food and drinks, live music, local shopping and other fun activities!

12. Spirit Day at Columbus Clippers

The Clippers have set a goal to get 600,000 fans in paid attendance this season! There are 5 home games left and they are dropping the price of all tickets to $5 for the rest of the season! There is a game on Saturday at 7:15 PM and a game on Sunday at 4:05 PM. Sunday will be Spirit Day, which means all kids 12 and under will get in free with any kind of Clippers shirt or cap! If they reach their goal of 600,000 fans, all play off games will be free!
