What Should We Do This Weekend? June 24-26, 2016

This weekend I want to be about 5 different places at once! Luckily, a lot of these events are  happening either all weekend or at multiple times! So get out your calendar and plan away! Have a great weekend!

1. Half Price Books Clearance Sale at the Ohio Expo Center

When: Friday – Sunday, June 24-26, 2016
Time: Friday and Saturday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Hundreds of thousands of books, movies and music are on clearance at this huge sale! Everything is $2 or less!

2. Tanger Family Festival at Tanger Outlets

When: Friday – Sunday, June 24-26, 2016
Time: Friday and Saturday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

The new outlet mall opens this weekend with special events happening all weekend! There will be games, crafts, entertainment and even a ferris wheel! Saturday is Superhero Saturday!

3. Fun Fridays: Playdough Play at Everal Barn

When: Friday, June 24, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: 60 N. Cleveland Ave., Westerville, OH 43081

Children 6 years and under (accompanied by a parent or caregiver) are invited to play with dough! Experiment with different kinds of dough and make new colors! Cost is $5.

4. Family Storytime at Slate Run Farm

When: Friday, June 24, 2016
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Farmhouse, 1375 State Route 674 N., Canal Winchester, OH 43110

Kids of all ages can take part in a story time, help with chores around the garden and taste vegetables grown at the farm! This is also happening on Saturday at 10:30 as well!

5. Powell Festival at Village Green Park

When: Friday – Saturday, June 24 & 25, 2016
Time: Begins at 5:00 PM on Friday and 12:00 PM on Saturday (see link for schedule)
Location: 47 Hall St., Powell, OH 43065

This festival features live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, fireworks and plenty of kids activities in the Mount Carmel Kid’s Zone! There’s even something called “Endless Recess” – how could that not be fun?

6. Music Bash: Bluegrass at Slate Run Metro Park

When: Friday, June 24, 2016
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Buzzard’s Roost Picnic Area, 1375 State Route 674 N., Canal Winchester, OH 43110

The Slate Ridge Bluegrass Band is featured at the first of three summer concerts sponsored by Friends of Metro Parks! This event is free and family friendly.

7. Honey I Shrunk the Kids at Columbus Commons

When: Friday, June 24, 2016
Time: 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: 160 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43215

It’s free to watch Honey I Shrunk the Kids (Rated PG) at Columbus Commons!

8. Pollinator Palooza at Franklin Park Conservatory

When: Saturday, June 25, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Did you know there is such a thing as National Pollinators Week? The Franklin Park Conservatory wants to help you celebrate by making bee and butterfly crafts, talking with beekeepers, watching cooking demonstrations, listening to live music and more! 9. Honey Bee Festival at Stratford Ecological Center

When: Saturday, June 25, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: 3083 Liberty Rd, Delaware, Ohio 43015

Another chance to celebrate the honey bee this weekend with kids crafts, hay rides, beeswax demonstrations, live music and Dan’s Deli Food Truck. Event is $5 per person or $15 per family. If you come in a bee-themed costume, you can get in for free!

10. Grand Opening Celebration at Main Library

When: Saturday, June 25, 2016
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: 96 S. Grant St., Columbus, OH 43215

11. Hilltop Bean Dinner Festival in Westgate Park

When: Saturday, June 25, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: 455 S. Westgate Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43204

Westgate park was a Civil War prison camp where the prisoners survived on a serving of beans, twice a day. This family-friendly festival commemorates that history and celebrates unity with music, food (including beans!) arts and craft vendors and an antique car show!

12. International Mud Day at Three Creeks Metro Park

When: Saturday, June 25, 2016
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Your kids can get as muddy as they want in the giant mud pit in the Natural Play Area at the park. Can’t make it this weekend?  It’s also happening at Blendon Woods on Wednesday, June 29.

13. Family Fun Day at Strand Theatre

When: Sunday, June 26, 2016
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: 28 E. Winter St., Delaware, Ohio 43015

The Strand Theater in Delaware is celebrating their 100th anniversary with a day of family fun including a free showing of E.T.!IMG_8735
