It looks like a beautiful weekend ahead!  I hope everyone can get outside and enjoy it! Here are 7 things to do with your kids this weekend:

1. Snoopy!!! at Columbus Children’s Theatre

This musical (recommended for ages 5 and up) is based on the comic strip “PEANUTS” by Charles M. Schulz.  Canine Companions will be in attendance for the April 16th performances with a pre-show demonstration featuring their puppies-in-training!  At the writing of this post, the Sunday show is sold out and the 3:00 PM Saturday show has limited seats available.  Call for more info and tickets.

2. Hike it Baby at Sharon Woods Metro Park

Meet other moms and their toddlers/preschoolers for a kid-paced hike on the Edward S. Thomas (orange) trail!  Meet at the last parking area near Schock Lake and pack a lunch if you’d like to picnic at the playground after the hike!

3. Week of the Young Child Family Day at COSI

When: Saturday, April 16, 2016

COSI will offer special activities celebrating young children and early education! Free with COSI admission/membership.

4. Buckeye Model Train and Railroad Show at Ohio Expo Center

When: Saturday, April 16, 2016

Older kids and model train enthusiasts may enjoy Ohio’s largest combination model train and railroad memorabilia show!

5. Fractured Fairytales at Columbus Metropolitan Library, Shepard Branch

Geared for ages 6-11, this story time features stories and activities involving fairytales with a twist!

6. Spring Warehouse Sale at Junior Library Guild

When: Friday and Saturday, April 15 & 16, 2016
Time: Friday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hundreds of titles available for $5/book!  Pictures books are available and kids are welcome at the sale!  Younger children can spin the prize wheel for prizes and teens will enjoy ALA Youth Media Award Winners!  More information including a warehouse map is also available here.

 7. Spring Opening of the Orange Johnson House: Life at the Farm with the Worthington Historical Society

Visit the Orange Johnson property to celebrate the season opening!  Admission includes face painting, a child-friendly tour of the Orange Johnson House, visual exhibits, and visiting with live animals such as goats, chickens and rabbits.  Kids can build their own log houses with Lincoln Logs, make quilt patterns, try on pioneer outfits and participate in other hands-on activities to learn about life on the Johnson farm!

The city is full of bunnies and plastic eggs!  This weekend’s edition is all about Easter!  Enjoy your weekend!

1. Peter Rabbit Party at the Powell Branch Library

Celebrate Peter Rabbit with a party complete with bunny-themed crafts and activities!

2. EGGS, PAWS AND CLAWS at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

When:  Saturday and Sunday, March 26 & 27, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Water’s Edge Events Park, 4850 West Powell Road, Powell, Ohio 43065

Visit treat stations, participate in an egg hunt, take your picture with the Easter Bunny and mingle with some V.I.B’s (Very Important Bunnies).

3. Dublin Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt at Coffman Park

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016
Time: 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Location:  Coffman Park, 5200 Emerald Parkway, Dublin, OH, 43017

Criss Cakes will make the pancakes for the annual pancake breakfast supporting the Kiwanis Eliminate Project, the Easter Bunny and (Frog Jump) Froggy arrive at 9:00 AM and the Easter Egg Hunt begins promptly at 10:00 AM.  There will be 7,000 eggs and they will go quickly!  Children will be divided into groups ages 4 and under, 5-7 and 8-10.  Parents may help kids 4 and under.

4. Community Easter Egg Hunt at Amazing Grace Church

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

This is an event for the whole family featuring an egg hunt at 12:00 noon for children 5th grade and younger.  There will be games, free food, bounce houses and you can register to win prizes!

5. Egg Display at Blendon Woods Metro Park

If EASTER eggs aren’t your thing, native bird nests and eggs will be on display in the Nature Center this Sunday afternoon!

All three Columbus stores are offering their own versions of a buffet style Easter brunch!  It looks like a tasty menu!  Prices, menu and whether or not you need reservations varies by location.

8. Adults Only Flashlight Glow-in-the-Dark Egg Hunt at Heritage Park

This one isn’t for the kiddos!  This after-dark egg hunt is only for the adults ages 18 and up!  Cost is $5 per adult. Candy and prizes are your reward for searching for and finding eggs with your flashlight!
