Family-Friendly Things to do in Columbus, Ohio This Weekend:

Events are in chronological order. Ongoing events are listed first. If an event happens multiple times during a weekend, it will be listed in the order of its first occurrence, so make sure to read through the whole list! Have a great weekend!

1. Blooms and Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory

Visit the Pacific Island Water Garden between now and July 6th to walk amongst the butterflies! You can also view butterflies emerging from their chrysalises in the Metamorphosis Lab. This activity is available during regular hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and is included in admission.

2. Build the Thrill Event at LEGOLAND®

From March 6 – April 27 visitors can create the ultimate race car and beat the clock in an awesome race during the Build the Thrill Event. There will be building challenges, special scenes in MINILAND and special activities and photo ops! (Watch my Instagram Reel about Build the Thrill!)

3. Grove City Bunny Hunt

Print a Bunny Hunt entry sheet and find 14 bunnies throughout Grove City Town Center now through April 19th. Submit your completed form to win a prize. Check the link for all the details!

4. Photos with the Bunny at Polaris Fashion Place

Photos with the Bunny begin on Friday, March 21 and run through April 19th at Polaris Fashion Place! Book your reservation online and receive a complimentary gift. Walk-ups are also welcome. This year’s theme is Alice in Wonderland. All kids that visit the Bunny will receive a coupon good for 1 free small gelato at I Scream Gelato at Polaris Fashion Place.

5. Sharks at COSI

Explore dozens of life-sized models of sharks at this temporary exhibit at COSI that also includes fossils and interactive exhibits! The exhibit will be on display from April 12 through September 1, 2025. COSI opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday. Plan your visit to COSI with this blog post!

6. Eggs, Paws, and Claws at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

On Friday and Saturday at the Columbus Zoo you can enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny, meet and greets with Character Ambassadors, Eggbert and Shelley’s Rolling Shell-ebration, a Seek-n-Find activity and more. This event is included in regular admission to the zoo. Regular hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

7. Meet the Goats at Antrim Park

There will be visiting goats in Antrim Park to help take care of (eat) invasive plants! You can meet them on Friday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM by the lake. They will also be stocking the lake with rainbow trout that day. This is the only opportunity to meet the goats before they go to work in May.

8. Pizza Food Truck and Cotton Candy at Olentangy Caverns

On Friday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Little Italy Food Truck and Cotton Sugar Co will be on site at Olentangy Caverns.

9. World Heritage Week at Octagon Earthworks

On Friday from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM at the Octagon Earthworks in Newark there will be food trucks, a free, guided tour, create-and-take activities, a book reading and presentations on the stars and moon, a panel discussion, and a Twilight Tour.

10. Bunny Hunt Trail at Blendon Woods Metro Park

Find bunnies hidden on the trail at Blendon Woods Metro Park on Friday from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Decode the secret word and get a sweet treat.

11. Tadpole Takeover at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

Anyone ages 14 and up can take a 1-mile hike to explore a vernal pool while learning about the life cycle of frogs, toads and macroinvertebrates beginning at Battelle Darby Creek Nature Center on Friday at 3:00 PM. Wear boots!

12. Friday Fun: Egg Hunt at Linden Library

Enjoy an egg hunt and hands-on activities at the Linden Branch of CML on Friday from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.

13. Llama Llama Red Pajama at CCT Studios

Enjoy a kid-friendly, 30-minute interactive storytime featuring the book Llama Llama Red Pajama this weekend at CCT Studios! There are three show times on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM!

14. EcoFest in Grove City

EcoFest takes place in Town Center Park in Grove City on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. There will be hands-on activities for families, educational exhibits, a farmer’s market, local exhibitors and photos with the Easter Bunny.

15. Spring Craft at Quarry Trails Metro Park

Stop into the Park Office at Quarry Trails Metro Park on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM to make a spring craft. Read about Quarry Trails Metro Park before you visit!

16. Columbus Recreation and Parks Egg Hunts

Egg Hunts are scheduled at your local Columbus Recreation and Parks Community Center for Saturday at 9:30 AM. Check with your nearest center for details.

17. Girls and Youth at KOSU Day

On Saturday from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at The Ohio State University Airport, kids can enjoy interactive learning sessions, static aircraft displays, games and presentations sponsored by Women in Aviation. Register online. Anyone can join in this event, it is open to ages K-12.

Visiting The OSU Airport is a super fun thing to do with the kids!

18. Obetz Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday beginning at 10:30 AM, enjoy a petting zoo, inflatables, photos with the Easter Bunny, food, raffle drawing, and an Egg Hunt at Fortress Obetz. (Bring your own camera.)

19. DIY Fairy Houses at Northwest Library

Build a fairy house on Saturday from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Northwest Library. All supplies will be provided for ages 6-11.

20. Ganthers Place 15th Annual Egg Hunt

This Egg Hunt takes place at Ganthers Park for All People on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Bring a bag or basket. Geared toward kids 10 and under.

21. Fossil Tour at Ohio Statehouse

Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday with a free fossil tour at 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. Start on the ground floor of the Ohio Statehouse and look for fossils in the limestone walls, stairs and columns of the Ohio Statehouse. RSVP details at the link.

22. Lockbourne’s Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday at 1:00 PM there will be a visit from Peter Cottontail and an Egg Hunt in Locke Meadow Park. There will also be golden egg prizes. This is a free event for the community.

23. Easter Traditions at Slate Run Farm

Learn how to use natural dyes for eggs and make a craft at Slate Run Farm on Saturday and Sunday. The display will be available both days from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

24. Worthington BioBlitz

On Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Worthington Parklands you can learn to use the iNaturalist app to track plants and animals. All ages are welcome. A cell phone is required to participate and families with school-aged children are encouraged to attend. RSVP online.

25. Get in the game! Sports Gear Drive with Seeds of Caring

Help Seeds of Caring and Leveling the Playing Field expand access and equity within youth sports! Kids 2-12 will learn how sports keep our brains and bodies happy and complete an empathy-building exercise. Then helping hands will collect new and used sports equipment that will be distributed to local kids. Teams, families, and groups can register for FREE and participate any time through May 11!
