1. Saluting Those Who Served: Thank a Veteran with a Hand-Written Note with Seeds of Caring
In this group-friendly Anywhere Project from Seeds of Caring, kind kids ages 2-12 will learn why it’s important to honor our veterans, then create caring notes to thank them. Families, classrooms, scouts, and teams can participate through May 20, when their notes will be distributed to veterans participating in Honor Flight Columbus.
2. Play Unstoppable Festival Event at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Columbus
From March 23-May 12, 2024 at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Columbus you can enjoy the new LEGO Friends 4D Movie, design your own flowers, enjoy dance parties, go on a MINILAND scavenger hunt, create a festival animal and more during the Play Unstoppable Festival Event. This event takes place during regular hours and is included with admission.
3. COSI Science Festival
From May 1-4, enjoy Ohio’s largest STEAM event with 4 days of science activities all over Central Ohio! Check the link for community events happening on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! On Saturday, the event culminates in a BIG Science Celebration at COSI! From 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at COSI enjoy a free event that features STEAM professionals, hands-on activities, food vendors, demonstrations and more!

4. TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition at COSI
See over 200 authentic artifacts rescued from the wreckage site of Titanic including full-room recreations! There is an additional cost for this exhibit which will be available at COSI daily during regular hours through September 2, 2024. Reservations are strongly encouraged!
5. Blooms and Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory
Blooms and Butterflies will be open at Franklin Park Conservatory through July 7! You can walk through the Pacific Island Water Garden to see free-flying butterflies. Check out the Metamorphosis Lab to see new butterflies emerge from their chrysalis. Daily hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
6. Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr. at Westgate Community Center
Watch the story of Matilda unfold at this community performance at Westgate Community Center. Tickets are $5 and performance times are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM.
7. May 4th Day at BAM Hilliard
Celebrate the Galaxy at Bricks and Minifigs in Hilliard on Saturday during business hours. Create space-themed builds, participate in a costume contest and more. There will be donuts and milk for the first 50 people.
8. May the 4th Be With You at Main Library
Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM will be a day of Star Wars fun at the Main Library! Costumes are allowed, but no weapons. There will be recreated sets and props from Star Wars, crafts, activities, a Star Wars Storytime at 11:00 AM, Build Your Own Light Saber, Star Wars Trivia, and more! 9. Star Wars Archery at Scioto Grove
Enjoy Star Wars-themed targets at the Scioto Grove Archery range on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Equipment and basic instruction will be provided. For ages 8 and up.
10. Herb Day at Creekside Gahanna
Celebrate Gahanna’s Herb Capital status with a plant sale, herb and plant-themed activities, local artists and vendors at Creekside Plaza on Saturday from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.
11. Central Ohio Folk Festival at Highbanks Metro Park
The 27th Annual Central Ohio Folk Festival takes place May 4th and 5th at Highbanks Metro Park. Each day begins at 11:00 AM. The festival features roots and acoustic music. The Arcadian Wild is the headliner on Saturday night. The event also includes music workshops, jam tents, kids’ activities, crafts and more.
12. May the 4th Be With You at Old Worthington Library
From 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, celebrate Star Wars with games, crafts, Jedi training, a costume concert and visits from the 501st Legion. Check the link for exact times of specific activities.
13. Alley Islands
On Saturday from 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM celebrate murals and music in the Discovery District of Downtown Columbus! There will be live music, new murals, food, art, gallery spaces, street performers, food trucks and more!
14. Washday Blues at Slate Run Farm
On Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Slate Run Farm, help the farmwife with the laundry using the scrub board and wringer. There will also be soap making demonstrations.
15. Paint Your Own Pottery Pop-up at Olentangy Caverns
On Saturday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, enjoy a mocha for mom and cocoa for the kids. There will be a photographer on site to take your photo and you can make a keepsake picture frame. The cost is $25 for mom and 1 child and $5 for each additional child.
16. Mochas, Moms and Minis at Family Room Coffee & Bake Shop
On Saturday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, enjoy a mocha for mom and cocoa for the kids. There will be a photographer on site to take your photo and you can make a keepsake picture frame. The cost is $25 for mom and 1 child and $5 for each additional child.
17. Family Creeking at Blendon Woods Metro Park
Take a 1/2 mile hike to the stream to search for water creatures at Blendon Woods Metro Park at 3:00 PM on Saturday.
18. Powell Street Market
From 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, enjoy local food, vendors and a street market in downtown Powell.
19. Community Day at Franklin Park Conservatory
Residents of Columbus and Franklin County receive free General Admission to Franklin Park Conservatory on Sunday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Identification is required. Special programming on Sunday includes a blood drive, Bug Man and a Seed/Plant Swap. Check the link for specific timing of special events.
20. May the 4th Be With You Storytime at Main Library
This storytime is for Star Wars fans at the Main Library on Sunday at 1:30 PM.
21. Fairy House Building at Blendon Woods Metro Park
Gather natural materials and make a fairy house at Blendon Woods on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
