Over 35 family-friendly events happening this weekend in Columbus, Ohio!

FRIDAY

9:00 AM – Gala U-Pick, Feel the Love! at Lynd Fruit Farm – kick off the fall harvest season with Gala apples at Lynd Fruit Farm! U-Pick is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend!

10:00 AM – Summer Book Sale at Upper Arlington Public Library – shop thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and more for $.25 to $2 each! The sale goes on through August 26th!

11:00 AM – Apple Picking – Gala Apples at Cherry Hawk Farm – Gala apples are ready for picking at Cherry Hawk Farm! August 24, 25 and 26!

11:00 AM – Food Truck Fridays Extended Edition at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio – check out the food trucks in front of the main entrance at Ronald McDonald House. 10% of all sales are donated to RMHC. This week’s trucks include The Angry Wiener, Mixing Bowl Asian Grill & Kona Ice Little Buckeye!

5:00 PM – $5 Friday Pony Rides & Free Petting Zoo at Horse -N- Round Fun – ride a horse for $5 and enjoy a free petting zoo!

5:00 PM – Grand Reopening at City Folks Farm Shop – meet the new owners of City Folk’s Farm Shop, sample local foods, play City Farm Bingo for prizes, meet community partners and more!

6:00 PM – St. Joan of Arc Festival – this three day festival begins on Thursday night and runs through Saturday night. There will be rides, games, food music and more! There is no admission fee to the festival.

6:00 PM – Creekside Live: Soul Kitch’n w/ The Andy Shaw Band – Creekside Live is a free, outdoor concert! This week will feature Soul Kitch’n with The Andy Shaw Band.

6:00 PM – 4th Friday in Uptown Westerville – Westerville’s 4th Friday is all about Dogs this month! There will be pet-focused vendors, a Fox Hunt scavenger hunt, pet photos, treats, and more fun activities!

6:00 PM – 4th Fridays on the Lawn at Westerville Public Library – enjoy a family-friendly event on the front lawn of the library during 4th Friday in Uptown Westerville! This month’s activity is a Dog Wash! Bring your dog for a bath!

SATURDAY

9:00 AM – The Dublin Market at Bridge Park- shop local farmers, artisans, vendors and more while enjoying live entertainment! Read 5 Reasons Why You Should Visit the Dublin Market with Your Kids.

10:00 AM – Hulk Size School Supply Drive at Charity Newsies – Feld Entertainment is giving away one ticket voucher  to Marvel Universe Live! to the first 100 people who donate four of the requested school supply items! (See link for list.) Families can receive up to two vouchers in exchange for at least 8 items donated.

10:00 AM – Gala U-Pick at The Orchard and Company – pick apples at the farm from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday! Read about our visit to The Orchard and Co. in Plain City Apple Picking Adventures!

10:00 AM – Fire Safety Storytime at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers – an Upper Arlington fire fighter and paramedic will read and talk about fire safety! Kids can also get up close to a fire engine and medic truck!

10:00 AM – HOOT 90: Aliens at Gateway Film Center – watch family-friendly short films, enjoy activities in the lobby and music by the Shazzbots! This month’s theme is Aliens!

10:00 AM – Mud & Madness at Blacklick Woods Metro Park – navigate a muddy obstacle course for the whole family! The course is 1.5 miles long and you’ll want to bring your own towels!

10:00 AM – Little Adventurers: Flying Science at Gallant Woods Park – kids can explore nature with hands on activities and arts and crafts! This is a free program for ages 0-5 accompanied by an adult!

10:30 AM – Our Village Special Event: Mini Striders Class with FIT4MOM Upper Arlington – bring your own push toy to this “Mini Strides” workout! This is a free event with FIT4MOM Upper Arlington.

11:00 AM – Back 2 School Bash! at Briggs Road Baptist Church – enjoy back to school fun including free school supplies, corn hole, kick ball, food, snow cones, first responders, music and more! Supplies will be given out on a first come, first served basis.

12:00 PM – Metro Parks Climbing Festival at Scioto Audubon Metro Park – the two-day Climbing Festival includes climbing clinics, competitions, vendors, food vendors and more! The day ends with a showing of the movie The Goonies and there is the option to camp overnight!

12:00 PM – Urban Scrawl 12 at 400 West Rich – attend this festival to watch murals being created in the Franklinton Arts District! There will be food trucks and beverages, DJ’s and local artists!

12:00 PM – Story time with Cinderella! at Barnes and Noble Pickerington Ohio – enjoy a magical story time with Cinderella at Barnes and Noble in Pickerington.

12:00 PM – Summer Fest at Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets – celebrate summer at all Fresh Thyme Markets locations. There will be an outdoor market, live entertainment, food and sampling!

2:00 PM – Project SKD – The Amazing Learning Race at Columbus State Delaware Campus – this event is a scavenger hunt for the whole family that involves completing a service project together! The event is free but registration is required.

3:00 PM – Back to School Bash at Dublin Village Center – support Dublin Bridges with a Back to School Bash! There will be food, music, giveaways and more!

5:00 PM – Grandview Hop – enjoy live music, food trucks, local shopping, art, fun activities in more on Grandview Avenue!

6:00 PM – Blank & Brush Block Party III at Blank Slate Coffee – enjoy food trucks, live music, art vendors and more at the final Block Party of the summer!

7:00 PM – Summer’s End Campfire Adventure at Blendon Woods Metropolitan Park – make s’mores around the fire and play in the Natural Play Area. Meet at the Nature Center.

7:15 PM – Summer Movie Series at The Topiary Park – the final movie of the summer in Topiary Park is Arrival. The movie begins at dusk and the food truck Tortilla will be on site.

9:00 PM – Movie Series – The Goonies at Scioto Audubon Metro Park – watch the movie The Goonies as part of the Metro Parks Climbing Festival! Meet at the climbing wall.

SUNDAY

10:00 AM – National Dog Day at Rocky Fork Metro Park – take your dog for a 1.5 mile walk to celebrate National Dog Day! There will be training opportunities as well!

11:00 AM – German Village Makers Mart – this is a family-friendly and pet friendly event! Enjoy an outdoor artisan market featuring local artists, designers and growers!

2:00 PM – Monarch Butterfly Release Party at Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor – join Preservation Parks at Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor as live Monarch Butterflies are released into the wild! Learn about the lifecycle of monarchs! This is a free event!

2:00 PM – 2018 Bexley Local Author Festival! at Bexley Public Library – meet local authors, discover new books and get your books signed by the author!

4:00 PM – Birdshack – Live Jazz in the Park at Havenwood Park – enjoy a free jazz concert in the park including a food truck!
