Looking for something to do with the kids this Weekend? Try out one of these 10 Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

Check out this list of events for the upcoming weekend and if you need even more ideas make sure to check out:

1. School’s Out Open House at Glass Axis

Reserve your spot in advance for kids 18 and under to make a glass art project for any age! Friday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. 

2. Gahanna Summer Drive-In Series

Head to Headley Park on Friday nights for drive-in concerts and movies! This Friday night at 7:00 PM there will be a concert by Pop Gun (Classic Rock/Pop tribute). Register in advance if you want to attend!

3. Gift of Music Student Instrument Drive 

This is a music instrument drive that hopes to collect hundreds of unused, forgotten instruments left in peoples garages, attics and basements, which will all be donated to Columbus City Schools’ students. If you have kids (or you yourself) who went through an instrument phase (whether that be because of their music program at school, marching band, etc.) and have since lost interest or moved on, you can donate that instrument this weekend and next at one of 11 drop off locations! 4. U-pick Zestar Apples at Orchard and Co.

On Saturday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and  Sunday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM you can pick Zestar apples. $15 peck and $25 half bushel.

5. Sweet Carrot Bexley Pop-Up at Kittie’s Cakes

Note: Due to the weather forecast, this event has been cancelled. However, you can still order a Pickup Pack to pick up in Grandview or Bexley! Order here. Get your Sweet Carrot fix at their pop up at Kittie’s Cakes Bexley Cafe on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. There will be griddled corn cakes and mac ’n’ cheese topped with brisket or Ohio chicken meatballs!

6. Virtual Scrawl

This year, the Urban Scrawl festival will be live-streamed on Saturday, August 29th from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM from artists’ homes and studios! Artists will be live-streaming throughout the day and/or sharing photos and videos of their progress!

7. Summer Fun Days at Marmon Valley Farm

On Saturday from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, admission for the day offers access to hay rides, mini golf, swimming, paddle boating, and pony rides! Trail rides are available at an additional cost. Visit animals and more! Tickets are available in advance and at the door.

8. Back to School Party at United Skates of America

On Saturday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, bring an new School supply item for donation to receive a $2.00 Admission.

9. Open Barn Days at Sunrise Sanctuary

Visit Sunrise Sanctuary in Marysville on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM to visit the animals and learn about them! Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Children 3 and under are free.

10. Pay our Rent Sale at Canvas Creations For You

Help Canvas Creations pay their rent by shopping for hand-painted canvases, wood crafts, mask holders, take home kits and more! The sale takes place on Sunday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
