9:00 AM – Franklin County Engineer’s Office Touch A Truck at the Dublin Road location – kids can get up close to and learn about service vehicles including fire and police! 

10:00 AM – SunflowerFest 2019 at Branstool Orchards – this festival runs August 3-11 and will include hayrides, yoga, vendors, food trucks, live music, painting, and more! Tickets are available online or at the gate as space allows. Tickets are cheaper throughout the weekdays. Buy online to save more.

10:00 AM – Teacher Appreciation Month at Legoland Discovery Center (Columbus) – teachers can show their school ID or pay stub and receive free admission to LEGOLAND through August 31! Up to 6 friends or family can visit with you and receive $10 off standard admission!

10:00 AM – Commons for Kids at Columbus Commons – Commons for Kids offers activities for all ages including carousel rides, inflatables, activities and more! This week’s theme is Circus Day!

10:30 AM – Back to School Party at Polaris Fashion Place – this party takes place outside and includes crafting, outdoor play, photo ops with superheroes and villains, face painting and more! Bring a donation for Stuff the Bus and get to pick from the treasure chest.

2:00 PM – All Ohio Balloon Fest at the Union County Airport – this 3 day festival features live music, a flight simulator, animal ambassadors from the Columbus Zoo, a Kidz City ($10), plus balloon launches and rides! Tickets available at the gate.

4:00 PM – Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival at Huber Park – this annual festival includes live entertainment, food, vendors, tomato wars, carnival rides, a kid’s corner, chill cook off, salsa challenge and more!

5:00 PM – Festival 2019 – Friday Night at Saint Cecilia Festival – this family-friendly festival features rides, raffles, food, live entertainment and children’s events.

5:00 PM – Creekside Live: The Fabulous Johnson Brothers at Creekside Park & Plaza – enjoy a free concert in the park featuring The Fabulous Johnson Brothers. There will be acoustic performers throughout Creekside from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

6:00 PM – Campfire Cookout at Blacklick Woods Metro Park – learn basic campfire cooking skills!

6:00 PM – Franklinton Fridays at 400 West Rich – head to Franklinton when the galleries and art studios stay open late for exploring!

7:00 PM – Danny & the Linders | Grove City Summer Sizzle Concert Series in Grove City Town Center – enjoy a free concert in Grove City Town Center!

8:00 AM – Farmers’ Festival at North Market – this annual festival celebrates North Market and showcases local farms and vendors. There will be kid’s craft and coloring, a pie baking contest and more!

9:00 AM – Hills Famous $5 Pancake Breakfast at Hills Market – on Saturdays and Sundays you can get 2 pancakes, sausage links and coffee for $5!

9:00 AM – KidsFest 2019 at Groveport Recreation Department – this festival features a touch-a-truck, Cops N’ Kids, and back to school themed activities.

9:30 AM – Author Storytime: Chin Up Chinchilla at Cub Shrub – join author Beth Stafford as she reads her book, Chin Up, Chinchilla. there will be a related craft afterwards.

10:00 AM – Crime and Corruption Day at Ohio Village – spend the day at Ohio Village learning about crime and corruption in the 1890’s! There will be mock trials, crime solving, the True Crime Garage podcast and more!

10:00 AM – Storytime sing-along with Brian Griffin at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers – enjoy a reading and singing of Lennon and McCArtney’s “All You Need is Love’ and more during this musical story time!

11:00 AM – PBJ & Jazz: Jazz Daddies feat. Maggie Green at Topiary Park – enjoy a story time inside the Main Library, a kid friendly jazz concert in the park at 12:00 PM and art activities from Columbus Museum of Art afterwards.

4:00 PM Second Saturday | Arts in the Alley in Gahanna – this block party includes artists, vendors, food, larger than life balloon animals and more!

6:00 PM – 28th Annual Opa Opa Event at King Gyros – celebrate 28 years of Greek food with an eating contest, live music, belly dancing and dance lessons!

7:00 PM – National S’mores Day Campfire at Highbanks Metro Park – enjoy s’mores around the campfire.

8:00 PM – Summer Music Series at Franklin Park Conservatory – the Summer Movie Series features 3 free concerts on the grounds of Franklin Park Conservatory. One hour before the concert (starting at 7:00 PM) there will be music and garden inspired activities for kids. Check the link for the list of performances. This is a free outdoor concert. Admission to the Conservatory is not required.

10:00 AM – Sunday Sunday in German Village – stroll through German Village enjoying the shops and restaurants. At 1:00 PM there is a tour of German Village and the Actor’s Theatre presents As You Like It in Schiller Park. 

10:30 AM – Summer Fest Family Fitness at Gahanna Sports Factory – visit the new Gahanna Sports Factory to try out free sample classes including Hip Hop Dance, Yoga and Stroller Strides! There will be volleyball and basketball camps, food, sweet treats and jungle gyms.

12:00 PM – 2nd Sundays at Ohio Wildlife Center – visit the Ohio Wildlife Center and its inhabitants! An animal enrichment activity will take place at 1:00 PM. $5/person. Kids 5 and under are free.

1:00 PM – Family Creeking Adventure at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park – catch fish, bugs and crawdads in the creek!

1:00 PM – Fairy Garden Blowout Sunday at Creative Art Bar Hilliard – – register online and attend this workshop to receive 30% off your creation! Create your own fairy garden or terrarium using rocks, fairy houses and accessories, succulents and more. Ages 3 and up. Register online.

2:00 PM – Columbus Zoo at the Conservatory at Franklin Park Conservatory – meet animal ambassadors from the Columbus Zoo every second Sunday of the month! Free with admission or membership.

2:00 PM – Summer Community Read Splashdown at Bexley Public Library – celebrate the end of Summer Community Read with food trucks, tie-dying and special appearances from Star Wars characters! at 3:00 there will be a presentation about snakes, turtles, fogs and salamanders.

3:30 PM – August Family Paint // Little Palm Island at Art with Anna – kids ages 6 and up can create and paint a picture with their family and friends. $15/artist. This month’s theme is Little Palm Island. Register online.

5:00 PM – Tram and Campfire at Glacier Ridge Metro Park – take a tram ride around the park and make s’mores at the campfire.

8:00 PM – Summer Music Series at Franklin Park Conservatory – the Summer Movie Series features 3 free concerts on the grounds of Franklin Park Conservatory.
