1. 2022 Ohio State Fair

The Ohio State Fair is here! This will be the first weekend for the fair, and will go through Sunday August 7th. Make sure to head out and enjoy all of your favorite fair foods, rides, exhibits and more at the Ohio State Fair!

2. 2022 Union County Fair

This is the last weekend for the Union County Fair. Be sure to give them a visit for all of the great entertainment you expect out of a fair. Great food, music, exhibits, rides and games! It’s all here at the Union County Fair.

3. National Moth Week At Battelle Darby Creek

This is the final weekend for the National Moth Display at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park. Head on over to see the beautiful display of moths at the nature center.

4. Friday Storytime At Blendon Woods

Friday July 29th visit Blendon Woods Metro Park at 10am for a morning of stories, songs and activities. This event is for ages 2-5 years old.

5. Preschoolers: Earth, Wind And Water At Battelle Darby Creek 

Visit Battelle Darby Creek on Friday July 29th at 11am for a fun hour of exploring the elements! Be sure to dress for muddy conditions.

6. Shark Week At Tremont Library

Visit the Tremont library on Friday July 29th at 2pm for some Shark Week fun! This event includes a shark themed craft, activities and a scavenger hunt!

7. Metro Parks Touch-A-Truck At Sharon Woods

Friday July 29th starting at 4pm visit Sharon Woods for an afternoon of touch-a-truck. Meet the people behind the equipment and learn about their jobs!

8. Ice Cream and Trucks at West Berlin Presbyterian Church

Kids of all ages are invited to join West Berlin Presbyterian Church for an evening of exploring trucks and free ice cream (while supplies last). While visiting take a stroll on the Woodland Walk and borrow a book from the Wee Kirk library. This event takes place on Friday from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM.

9. Zoombezi Bay Summer Nights Featuring Dive-In Movie

Friday July 29th starting at 5pm visit Zoombezi Bay for an evening filled with character ambassadors and a family friendly movie starting at 8pm. The movie being featured this week is Frozen 2.

10. Bat Walk And Talk At Franklin Park Conservatory

Friday July 29th starting at 7:45pm visit Franklin Park Conservatory for a family friendly hike in the night to search for bats! On this hike you will learn about these creatures and their habitats. This event is free for children, a fee is charged for adults.

11. Dayton Air Show 2022

Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st  visit the Dayton International Airport for an exciting display of air performances, hands on activities and experiments all featuring aircrafts! This event is fun for the whole family! See link for tickets, times and prices.

12. From Book To Film At Gateway Film Center

Both Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st visit the Gateway Film Center with your library card for a free movie! The movie being featured this week is Paddington 2. See link for tickets, times and details of this event.

13. Space Celebration At The National Museum Of The U.S. Airforce

14. Candy Race 5K At Sharon Woods Metro Park

Saturday July 30th at 8am the Candy Race will commence at Sharon Woods Metro Park! A race the whole family can enjoy, with a sweet treat at the end! See link for details and registration.

Saturday July 30th at 10am join musician Brian Griffin and his guitar for a fun interactive and musical storytime at Cover to Cover bookstore.

Saturday July 30th at 10am head over to the Northwest Worthington Library for a great morning of water fun and games! Be sure to pack your sunscreen!

Saturday July 30th at 10:30am visit Fancyburg Park for a storytime, story walk and lots of fun with a librarian!

19. Paddlefest At Prairie Oaks Metro Parks

Saturday July 30th at 11am visit Prairie Oaks Metro Park for some fun out on the water! This event features fun for the whole family including 60 plus boats on display! No registration required and equipment is available for use on a first come, first serve basis.

26. Creek The Ravines At Blendon Ravines 

Sunday July 31st at 10am visit Blendon Ravines for a fun off the path hike! Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet and muddy. This hike is intended for kids ages 8 and up.

27. For Families: Creeking At Highbanks Metro Park

Sunday July 31st at 1pm visit Highbanks Metro Park and be prepared to get wet and messy while creaking with your family. Be sure to wear your shoes that can get wet and be worn in the creek. At this event you will learn to look for animals that call this place home.

28. Meet The Animals! At Homestead Metro Park

Sunday July 31st at 3pm visit Homestead Metro Park for some hand on fun learning about the animals that call Homestead their home!

29. Sounds Of Summer Concert Series At Alum Creek Park Amphitheater

Sunday July 31st at 6:30pm pack your picnic, blankets and chairs for some live music at Alum Creek Amphitheater! This week the band being featured is Lords of Literature. This event is free to attend and fun for the whole family.

30. Get a Head Start on National Literacy Month with Seeds of Caring

Get a jump on September by starting a Book Drive benefiting families supported by NNEMAP Food Pantry. Running through 9/30, this Anywhere project celebrates National Literacy Month and teaches kids about the young changemaker who founded the Read to Succeed Foundation. This is another group-friendly one so engage your friends, family, troops, teams, and neighbors to donate gently used books for the young bookworms in our city!
