What Should We Do This Weekend? Columbus, Ohio, March 12-14, 2021

Looking for something to do this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these 15 family-friendly Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

1. Skate Around the Town at Easton Town Center

From February 20-March 20 ice skating will be offered at Easton’s Town Square from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Skates are available to borrow and skating is free! There will be 15 skaters on the rink at a time and masks are required.

2. Blooms and Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory

Beginning February 20, 2021, the butterflies will be back in the Pacific Island Water Garden biome at Franklin Park Conservatory! Daily butterfly demonstrations will not be taking place but there will be virtual opportunities to watch the butterflies be released!

3. DIY Winter Hike with Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks

Winter Hikes are happening at your own pace this year and each month different parks are featured. Pick up a Winter Hike Passport from a staff member and collect a patch for completing 7 hikes.

4. Drawing with Sheldon the Snail

Learn to draw with Sheldon the Snail and Miss Jean from Grandview Heights Public Library! This event will take place on Facebook Live on Friday at 10:30 AM.

5. Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt at the Indian Mound Mall

On Friday from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM kids can hunt for hidden shamrocks, do a craft, get a free snack and more!

6. Be a Superhero! Portrait Experience at Pearlescent Luxury Portraits

On Saturday from 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM kids can get Superhero portraits taken. Several packages are available. Register online.

7. St. Patrick’s Day Reverse Parade at Darree Fields

A reverse parade means that you can drive through the park to see floats, inflatables, bagpipes and more celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, Ohio! You can also watch the past parades on YouTube! The parade will begin at on Saturday at 11:00 AM and will close at 1:00 PM. Check the link for a parade activity packet to keep your kids entertained as they wait in the car!

8. JCPenney Kids Zone

Stop by your nearest JCPenney store to pick up a free Easter basket craft activity for kids to take home! Pick up hours are 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday.

9. Pony Rides & Carriage Rides at Kuhlwein’s

Pony and carriage rides will be available at Kuhlwein’s provided by Horse-N-Round Fun on Saturday from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. No reservations necessary. See link for pricing.

10. $10 — St Patrick’s Day Mini Signs at AR Workshop Grove City

Make a mini St. Patrick’s sign during a 1 hour session on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Projects are $10. Register online.

11. Breakable Candy Kraft at Dublin Toy Emporium

RSVP for Irish Krafts including breakable candies. $10/crafter. You must register in advance. Times available on Saturday afternoon.

12. Irish Hot Chocolate Bombs or Shamrock Pretzels with Bookmark Kraft at Dublin Toy Emporium

Kids can make Irish Hot Chocolate Bombs and Irish Krafts! $10/crafter. Reservations required by calling or texting. 

13. PNO (Parents Night Out-Saturdays) at Dublin Toy Emporium

On Saturday beginning at 6:00 PM you can shop within the historic Dublin area while your kids participate in an activity at Kreation’s Play Kafe. You must register in advance for this event. See the link for details.

14. St. Patrick’s Day Family Friendly Event

On Sunday from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Worthington will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a family-friendly sip and stroll event.

15.  Family Day at the Dispatch Home and Garden Show

The Spring Dispatch Home and Garden show is taking place March 6-14, 2020 at the Expo Center. Family day is on March 14th.  Children can receive a Child ID from the Franklin County Sherriff’s office from 12:00 PM–4:00 PM  and kids can pick up a “take and make” project from the Lowe’s booth to build at home (while supplies last). Tickets must be purchased online.
