Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

1. Show Kindness to Parents and Babies with Seeds of Caring

Do you have baby items in your house that you don’t need anymore? You can help families supported by Bundled with Love by hosting your own donation drive! Through 4/3 collect new or gently used 0-18 month sized clothes as well as other baby items like blankets, board books, sensory toys, shoes and socks. 2. Night At The Museum At The Works

Visit The Works this Friday March 18th between 4pm-8pm to experience a night at the museum. This Friday they will stay open late for all to enjoy engineering with their Mini Maker Fair! Design, create, and innovate! This event is included with admission. Also if morning’s are more your style, you can visit The Works for their Around Town exhibit. This week they will have Astrophysics With Melanie Lott. The Around Town event is at 9:30am and is also included with admission.

3. Touch It: Robots | At The Old Worthington Library

Starting at 4pm on Friday March 18th visit the Old Worthington Library for their Touch It:Robots event. They will have interactive toys that combine technology, art and computer programming for all to learn and enjoy. This event is geared towards ages 6-11.

4. Full Worm Moon Hike At Battelle Darby Creek

Friday March 18th at 7pm meet at the ranger station at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park for a brisk 4 mile hike all while enjoying the moonlight from the full moon.

5. Kids Fishing Derby Hosted By Cabela’s

Join Cabela’s for their kid’s fishing derby on both Saturday and Sunday from noon-2pm. All fishing poles and equipment will be provided by Cabela’s. They will also be hosting a cookout and fun giveaways.6.

6. PBJ & Jazz: Big Band Blowout

Starting at 10am on Saturday March 19th experience PBJ & Jazz for their Big Band Blowout. This is the biggest band they’ve ever had! These short interactive concerts are perfect for little ones! Tickets, pricing and additional times available in the link.

7. Harbingers Of Spring At Battelle Darby Creek

Visit Battelle Darby Creek on Saturday March 19th at 10am to take in all of the sights of spring. This is a 2.5 mile hike to check out the earliest spring wildflowers. Meet at the Little Darby Picnic area.

8. Weekend Winter Wiggles At Worthington Park Library

Visit Worthington Park Library on Saturday March 19th at 10:30am to get out those winter wiggles! This event is focused on whole body movement and large motor playtime. This event is geared towards ages 5 and under.

9. Open Studio: Glass Fusing At The Works

On Saturday March 19th starting at noon visit The Works to make your own fused piece of glass art. This month’s theme is eggs, but feel free to make whatever inspires you! This event is recommended for ages 4+ with the help of an adult. Class is included with admission and prices of glass vary depending upon size of your fused glass.

10. Mommy & Me-Family Canvas Paint Workshop

This kid friendly event at Art Garden Academy starting at 1pm on Saturday March 19th encourages families and their loved ones to gather to make a one of a kind piece of artwork together.  Registration and pricing  is available in the link.

11. Open Studio At Columbus Museum Of Art

Visit the Columbus Museum Of Art on Saturday March 19th at 11am and think like an artist! A variety of materials will be available to work with and all ages are welcome at Open Studio! This is included with admission to the museum.

12. Columbus Zoo Comes To Byers Chevrolet Of Grove City

Saturday March 19th from noon-1pm visit Byers Chevrolet Of Grove City for an up close experience with animals from the Columbus Zoo! This would be a great way to meet some animal friends all while staying central. 

13. Happy Tails-N-Trails At Sharon Woods

Saturday March 19th at 1pm visit Sharon Woods Metro park for a fun 2-mile hike with your canine companion. Meet at the Apple Ridge bulletin board. All pups will get a treat at the end of the hike.

14. The Columbus Toy & Game Show At The Ohio Expo Center

Visit the Ohio Expo Center on Sunday March 20th for The Columbus Toy & Game Expo. Doors open at 8am. This event is fun for all ages! Kids and adults will enjoy seeing all of the vintage toys, games, trading cards and collectibles on display. Tickets available online or at the door of the event.

15. Crawls, Flies And Squirms At Columbus Children’s Theatre

Sunday March 20th visit the Columbus Children’s Theatre and follow a caterpillar’s journey to discover who they truly are. This is a hands-on sensory friendly experience that tells the story. This event is geared towards ages 5 and under. Tickets, times and pricing available in the link.

16. Mammal Display At Highbanks

Sunday March 20th at 2pm visit Highbanks Metro Park inside the nature center to learn about Ohio mammals from an Ohio certified naturalist. All ages are welcome!
