Family Friendly Events in Columbus, Ohio This Weekend:

FRIDAY

10:00 AM – SuperGames Open Play! at SuperGames – purchase tickets the day of for open play at SuperGames! $10/child. 

10:00 AM – The LEGO® Movie™ DAYS at Legoland Discovery Center (Columbus) – LEGOLAND Columbus is celebrating The LEGO Movie 2 with special building activities, character appearances, photo opps and more!

10:00 AM – Spring Break Hours at Ohio History Center – the OHC is open 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM from March 9th through Sunday March 31st for Spring Break! Visit the new Ohio – Champion of Sports exhibit!

10:00 AM – Tots on the Trails at Blacklick Woods Metro Park – take a toddler-paced half mile hike to discover nature. Recommended for ages 1-4.

11:00 AM – Campfire & Smores at Highbanks Metro Park – make s’mores around a campfire!

11:00 AM – Family Week at National Veterans Memorial and Museum – Friday’s activities include a scavenger hunt, letter writing to veterans, coloring, flag making, a parade, snacks and family-friendly tours. There will also be food trucks on site! (This would also be a great opportunity to ride the Smart Circuit!)

11:00 AM – Spring Break at Ten Pin Alley – for $15/person you will receive 1 hour of bowling with shoes, 1 laser tag mission and 1 $10 arcade card. This offer is good Monday through Friday throughout the whole month of March from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. 

12:00 PM – The Rooms at Easton, presented by COSI at Easton Town Center – explore 5 rooms of fun featuring optical illusions and audience participation. This is a free exhibit that will be in the Station Building at Easton until May 19, 2019.

12:00 PM – Kids Paint Free Day at Clay Cafe Clintonville – studio fees are waived for kids on Friday between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM!

5:00 PM – $5 Friday Pony Rides & Free Petting Zoo at Horse -N- Round Fun – all ages can ride a pony or horse for $5/person. There will also be a free petting zoo on site.

5:00 PM – Family Friday Night at COSI – on the last Friday of each month COSI stays open late with reduced admission!

6:30 PM – Family Swim at Goldfish Swim School – check out all 3 Goldfish Swim School locations for a night of family fun including free swimming in the 90 degree pool!

7:00 PM – The Wizard of Oz – Theater in the Hilltop at The Run the Race Center – this play, directed by a local 15 year old, is 1 hour long and features local actors in a premiere production of The Wizard of Oz! $5/person at the door.

7:00 PM – hAiRsPrAy! at Whetstone Academy of Performing Arts – watch a local performance of HAIRSPRAY! There are 3 shows this weekend and kids 5 and under are free!

7:00 PM – Trivia Night at Battelle Darby Nature Center – sign up to play team trivia with an Ohio theme after hours at the Nature Center or just come and watch! There will be food trucks on site!

SATURDAY

9:00 AM – Hip Hop Hooray! Bunny’s Arrival at Polaris Fashion Place – welcome the Bunny to Polaris with an Easter Eggstravaganza! at 9:00 there will be animal friends from the Columbus Zoo and the Bunny arrives at 10:00 AM.

9:30 AM – Our Village: Glow in the Dark Strides and Playdate – join FIT4MOM UA for a glow-in-the dark Stroller Strides class and playdate! Bring light up toys for extra fun! The class starts at 9:30 AM and the playdate begins at 10:30 AM. The play date is free and your first class is always free!

10:00 AM – Storytime at Grange Insurance Audubon Center – enjoy a nature based story time for preschoolers!

10:00 AM – Book Art with Cub Shrub at Picassos – reserve your spot for this Book Art class featuring the book “Mary Wears What She Wants”. 

10:00 AM – Spring Break Hours at Ohio History Center – the OHC is open 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM from March 9th through Sunday March 31st for Spring Break! Visit the new Ohio – Champion of Sports exhibit!

10:00 AM – HOOT 97: Sing at Gateway Film Center – watch kid-friendly short films and enjoy a dance party and live music from The Shazzbots! There will be activities in the lobby before the movies start. Free with a canned good donation to the Open Shelter. Recommended for ages 1-8.

10:00 AM – Kids Day at The Gardens – take a road trip to Berlin for Kid’s Day at the Gardens. $5 per child includes rock painting, games, a bug zoo, hot dog and popcorn, a dirt dig, pictures with Spider Man or a Princess Fairy an more!

10:00 AM – Kids Club Eggs-tra Fun at Michaels Stores – Kids 3 and up can make a spring card. $2 per project. Register online.

11:00 AM –The Bugman at Franklin Park Conservatory – see The Bugman and his friends at Franklin Park Conservatory! Included with admission or membership. The Blooms and Butterflies exhibit is also now open for the season!

11:00 AM – Brunch at Blank Slate Coffee – pick up donuts, coffee and a sandwich and watch live carving and print making being done at the nearby Hart Room.

12:00 PM – The Rooms at Easton, presented by COSI at Easton Town Center – explore 5 rooms of fun featuring optical illusions and audience participation. This is a free exhibit that will be in the Station Building at Easton until May 19, 2019.

1:00 PM – A Walk in the Park at Blacklick Woods Metro Park – it’s Take a Walk in the Park Day! Celebrate with a 2 mile hike!

1:00 PM – MAKE break Bunny Tail Clay Pot at Michaels Stores – Buy the pot and Michaels will provided the supplies to decorate it!

5:00 PM – Superhero Family Night at Hilltop YMCA – come dressed as your favorite superhero! There will be inflatables, games and more! $20 for members $25 for non members (one parent + one child). $5 for each additional family member. Register online.

5:00 PM – Parent’s Night Out @ Kreation’s Play Café! at Dublin Toy Emporium – drop off your child for an evening of crafts, a shamrock hunt, dance time and movie! Dinner will be provided. Register in advance!

1:00 PM – Eggstravaganza at Highbanks Metro Park – celebrate spring with bounce houses, crafts, face painting, pictures with the bunny, nature activities and an egg hunt! Bring your own basket.

2:00 PM – hAiRsPrAy! at Whetstone Academy of Performing Arts – watch a local performance of HAIRSPRAY! There are 3 shows this weekend and kids 5 and under are free!

2:00 PM – Go WILD Kids Club: Vernal Pools at Sharon Woods Metro Park – explore creatures living in these wetlands! Come prepared to get wet!

3:00 PM – The Wizard of Oz – Theater in the Hilltop at The Run the Race Center – this play, directed by a local 15 year old, is 1 hour long and features local actors in a premiere production of The Wizard of Oz! $5/person at the door. Dinner is served after the play on Sunday for an additional $5.
