What Should We Do This Weekend? Columbus, Ohio, September 4-7, 2020 Labor Day Weekend

Looking for something to do over Labor Day Weekend? Try out one of these 13 family-friendly Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

1. School’s Out Open House at Glass Axis

Reserve your spot in advance for kids 18 and under to make a glass art project for any age! Friday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. 

2. Labor Day Family Value Weekend at Young’s Jersey Dairy

Purchase a Family Value wristband for $15 for ages 12 and up and $9 for ages 11 and under. The wristband is good for unlimited play, all day! Activities include mini golf, batting cages, driving range, Cowvin’s Fast Slide, Cowvin’s Kiddie Corral, a wagon ride and more! This deal will be available September 4-7, 2020.

3. Wag Wilderness Walk

WAG! Fest has been canceled due to COVID, but its organizers and Franklin Co Metro Parks came together to reimagine what they could do this year in order to address a serious issue: people are unable to feed their pets due to financial hardship in the wake of this pandemic and pet food pantries are in high demand.

Knowing this, the producers of WAG! Fest and its partners came up with the WAG! Wilderness Walk. This is a self-guided dog walk, where people can register and walk their dog socially distanced at their convenience at any time during Labor Day weekend at any Metro Park in central Ohio. ALL proceeds will go to Columbus Humane Pet Food Assistance Program! Register at the link!

4. SummerFEST with ProMusica

Purchase your tickets ahead of time for these drive-in, socially distant concerts by ProMusica! Options this weekend include Friday at  7:00 PM in Headley Park in Gahanna, Saturday at 7:00 PM in Headley Park in Gahanna and Sunday at 5:00 PM in Dublin Coffman Park. 5. Harvest Saturdays at Lawrence Orchards

On Harvest Saturdays you can pick your own apples, enjoy orchard activities and food trucks! The farm will be open this Saturday from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. 

6. Sunflower Pick and Pics at Lohstroh Family Farm

Pick sunflowers at Lohstroh Family Farm for $5/person. Price includes 1 sunflower and additional flowers can be purchased for $1 each. Hours are Saturday 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Labor Day 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

7. Saturday Studio Art Canvas // Rainbow Cactus Art with Anna

Saturday at 9:30 AM, paint a Rainbow Cactus! Ages 4 and up. You must register before 8:00 AM on Saturday. 

8. Hello Kitty Cafe Truck East – Columbus Appearance

The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be at Easton on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM selling treats and merchandise near Crate&Barrel.

9. DIY Butterfly Bash at Blendon Woods Metro Park

Learn about butterflies as you complete the self-guided Butterfly Challenge Trail! Look for butterflies, learn how to start your own butterfly garden, do a craft and more! You can do this activity any time between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Saturday through Monday (Labor Day)!

10. Musical Storytime with ProMusica at Columbus Metropolitan Library (Main Library)

Reserve your ticket in advance for this free outdoor Musical Storytime on Saturday at 11:00 AM! This musical experience is perfect for preschoolers and features story and song, letters and physically distant activities!

11. Frozen Meet/Greet & Open House at Paulettes Princess Parties

Visit with the Frozen Sisters for singing, dancing and socially distant pictures! Two time slots are available on Saturday: 10:00 and 10:30 AM. This is a free opportunity to learn about opportunities and upcoming classes at Paulette’s Palace and Productions. Register in advance.

12. Cowvin’s Corny Maze Open Weekends at Young’s Jersey Dairy

Cowvin’s Corny Maze is open on Saturdays and Sundays at Young’s Jersey Dairy beginning at 11:00 AM through 6:00 PM. Price is $7.50/person. Age 4 and under are free. Children age 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Price includes a wagon ride to and from the maze!

13. Free Dinner Night at United Skates of America – Refugee Rd.

This Sunday night from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM $9/person admission includes skate rental, 1 slice of cheese pizza and a small drink.
