What Should We Do This Weekend? May 11-13, 2018

29 family friendly events happening in Columbus, Ohio this weekend!  Happy Mother’s Day!

Friday:

9:00 AM – Free Coffee Friday at Tree of Life Play + Cafe – get a free 12 oz drip coffee with admission Friday only!

9:30 AM – Free Mother’s Day Stroller Strides Class at Highbanks Park – join Fit4Mom Columbus North for a free Stroller Strides class and a mini Mommy and Me photo session!

9:30 AM – Mini Touch-a-Truck at Hilliard’s Station Park – kids can explore their favorite trucks up close!

9:45 AM – Drop In Music Class at Coffee Connections of Hilliard – join WeJoySing for music and play! Two class times are available $5 for the first child, $3 for siblings.

10:00 AM – Mother’s Day Picnic in the Park at Hannah Park – join Fit4Mom Columbus East for their first Mother’s Day Picnic!

5:00 PM – Dino-ROAR! at Lancaster Community Days – view an interactive show where you can touch the dinosaurs, see fossils and more! There will be 6 shows throughout the weekend on Friday and Saturday.

6:00 PM – PJ Masks Live! Time to be a Hero at Palace Theatre – watch your favorite PJ Masks characters save the day live!

7:00 PM – The Little Mermaid Jr. at Westgate Recreation Center – there will be two showings of this musical rendition of The Little Mermaid Jr.: Friday at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 2:00 PM. Cost is $5/ticket.

Saturday:

9:00  AM – Waffle Bar at Coffee Connections of Hilliard – waffles, unlimited toppings and coffee for just $5/person!

9:30 AM – Free Family Stroller Strides & Playdate at Fancyburg Park – join Fit4Mom Upper Arlington for a free family workout, play date and Mommy & Me mini photo shoots!

10:00 AM – Touch-A-Truck at Pickerington Community Pool – at this free event, kids can get up close to big trucks and other vehicles! Kids can even get their own driver’s license!

10:00 AM – Babies & Bumps 2018 at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center – – new and soon to be parents can get answers to all their questions by meeting local health care providers, attending seminars and demonstrations, enjoying activities and meeting with organizations that cater to you and your baby at this one day event! 10:00 AM – Roses for Youth FunShop at Miller’s Country Gardens – this is a free event where kids can learn how to grow and care for miniature roses. There are two session available: 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Click the link for info on how to register.

10:00 AM – Mommy and Me – Mother’s Day Paint Workshop at Quantum 51 – The Discovery Workshop is hosting this opportunity for kids and moms to spend time together making art! There are 4 sessions throughout the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. See the link for instructions on how to register.

10:00 AM – Saturday Morning Cartoons: Comic Book Edition at Gateway Film Center – watch your favorite Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ’s and with your own bowl of cereal! $5/person.

10:00 AM – Charlotte’s Web at Drexel – The Drexel Family Screening this month is Charlotte’s Web! Kids 12 and under are $1, 13 and older are $3.

11:00 AM – Mother’s Day Celebration at Fresh Thyme Worthington – celebrate Mother’s Day with a build your own bouquet station, chocolate dipped strawberries and a card making station!

11:00 AM – COSI Mother’s Day Weekend Brunch at COSI Columbus’ Dynamic Hands-On Science Center! – celebrate Mother’s Day with a brunch buffet, live entertainment, hands on science activities and access to COSI for the day. Ticket sales end THURSDAY at 5:00 PM.

11:00 AM – Tram Ride at Blacklick Woods Metro Park – take a tram ride through the park!

1:00 PM – Mother’s Day Frame at Michaels Stores – kids can make a hand painted frame for Mother’s Day! Ages 3 and up are welcome, first come first served. Participants must by the frame, all other supplies will be provided.

1:00 PM – Big Foot Escape Room at Sharon Woods Metro Park – solve a puzzle, unlock the mystery box and find Bigfoot before time runs out!

1:00 PM – A Walk Through Time at Slate Run Metro Park and Living Historical Farm – learn about the research and preservation behind the living history program by taking a tour of Slate Run Historical Farm.

1:00 PM – Mother’s Day Tea Party at Picassos – create special crafts, enjoy treats from Purple Sage Bakery and get your family photo taken! Register online.

1:00 PM – Natural Play Area: First Birthday at Blendon Woods Metropolitan Park – celebrate the first birthday of the Natural Play Area with crafts, learning about animals and plants and, of course, play!

2:00 PM – Canal Winchester Art Stroll at Canal Winchester Art Guild – – the 7th annual Art Stroll features local artists and artwork, open studios, live entertainment, food vendors, children’s activities and more! This is a free event!

Sunday:

9:00 AM – Mother’s Day at the Zoo at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – moms and grandmas get in free to the Columbus Zoo all day with a paid child’s admission!

9:00 AM – Free Admission for Moms on Mother’s Day at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden – if you’re looking for a road trip for Mother’s Day, moms get in free to the Cincinnati Zoo all day! You can get your ticket online.

12:00 PM – Flowers for Mom at Sharon Woods Metro Park – make a flower craft and do a scavenger hunt for flowers in Sharon Woods Metro Park!

1:00 PM – Mother’s Day Photos at Easton Town Center – complimentary photos will be taken from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Central Park Fountain! Expecting mothers can stop in at A Pea in the Pod for a refresh before your picture! Easton will also be doing carriage rides for $10/adult, children 15 and under are free.
