1. Arbor Day Celebration at Franklin Park Conservatory

This fun and educational event includes tree climbing for kids AND adults, a scavenger hunt, tree ring counting, and more opportunities to learn about trees and how important they are! While supplies last, those who attend will get a free tree sapling! There will be food trucks on site and a raffle for free tree work from Ahlum & Arbor. Kids can make Tree Cookie Necklaces on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

2. Customer Appreciation Weekend at PizzaFire Dublin

When: Friday – Sunday, April 28-30, 2017

This weekend only all pizzas will be half price with unlimited toppings! (Dublin location only!) The proceeds from the weekend will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys and Girls Club! There will be a Kids’ Pizza Contest on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and everyone wins something!

Stroll Uptown Westerville as the shops stay open late! Enjoy live music, art, performing art, street vendors and family-friendly activities like bounce houses, a caricature artist, book characters and fire and rescue vehicles! Before hand (5:15 PM -5:45 PM) the Westerville Library will host “4th Friday Stories and Fun” which will feature a storytime!

4. Healthy Kids Day at your local YMCA

5. Meet Z Yang at American Girl – Columbus

Celebrate the debut of American Girl’s newest contemporary character, a filmmaker from Seattle! There will be a special give way and girls can make their own stop-motion film craft!

6. HOOT Family Film Series at the Gateway Film Center

This event takes place the last Saturday of each month and includes family friendly activities like games, stories, crafts and live music by the Shazzbots! The kid-friendly short films start at 11:00 AM. This month’s theme is Flowers! All movies are rated “G” and admission is free with a suggestion donation of a canned good for The Open Shelter!

7. Discover the Dinosaurs UNLEASHED at Ohio Expo Center

This walk-through exhibit offers the chance to be up close with a Stegosaurus, Velociraptor and T-Rex! Kids can dig for fossils, play and bounce and do crafts in the Kids Adventure Zone!

8. 31st Annual Duckling Day at Columbus Metropolitan Library – Whetstone Branch

When: Saturday April 29, 2017

Clintonville Rotary hosts the annual Duckling Day which includes a parade, live ducks, a puppet show and literacy activities with a ducky theme! You can pick up a duck costume packet at the library before the event or duck masks will be available the day of the program!

9. Week of the Young Child Family Day at COSI

10. Blacklick Woods Outdoor Adventure

This special event is a collaboration between Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks & ECRN+ (YMCA of Central Ohio) with the goal of getting children and youth of all abilities outdoors to play games, see wildlife and have fun! 11. Fit4Baby Open House at Babies “R” Us

13. Swim to End Cancer at Aqua Tots Swim School

Sign up for a 30 minute swimming lesson for your child and 100% of the proceeds will go to support Pelatonia riders! If you have more than one child, there is a code for a 15% discount for siblings! There will also be a raffle for gift baskets with items from Aqua-Tots, The Little Gym and more!

Christmas Weekend is upon us! If you have kids on winter break or toddlers that have a lot of extra energy to get out, there are a lot of things to do this week and weekend! Don’t forget to check out my 2016 Columbus Holiday Scavenger Hunt and print out the printable to take it a long with you as you’re out and about! It includes 25 things to find in Columbus before New Year’s Day! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

10:00 AM – Winter Warm Up Week at Grange Insurance Audubon Center – the center is offering a couple days worth of activities for kids including movies, story times, crafts, scavenger hunts and more! Admission is free!

10:00 AM – Holiday Open Play at SuperGames – the first 150 children (first come, first served) will be allowed to play during these open hours!

10:00 AM – Winter Break Scavenger Hunt and Craft at Blendon Woods Metro Park – stop by the nature center for crafts and a scavenger hunt!

10:00 AM – Merry and Bright at Franklin Park Conservatory –  the Conservatory stays open until 9:00 with special musical performances, a gingerbread house display, a holiday train, holiday lights and seasonal plantings!

1:00 PM – Lego Class at Level One Bar + Arcade – sign up in advance to attend a class teaching the kids how to create a special Lego figure! There is also a class at 3:00 PM

5:00 PM – Visit with Santa at Partner’s Park – last chance to visit with Santa before he gets ready for Christmas Eve!

6:45 PM – Family Night Painting and Cocoa at John E. Bickley YMCA – paint a picture on canvas, watch a holiday movie and enjoy a hot cocoa bar! $5 per person.

7:30 PM – Movie Night at Coffee Underground – watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and A Charlie Brown Christmas for free, with popcorn!

7:30 PM – Cirque Dreams Holidaze at Palace Theatre – Cirque’s holiday performance is in Columbus this weekend!

7:30 PM – Holiday Wishes at the Disney Store at Polaris Fashion Place – make a holiday wish every night at 7:30!

Tribute to the Nutcracker at Grove City City Hall – see the animated window display Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival at Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds – a 5 week celebration of Chinese culture with amazing silk lanterns, traditional performances and food!

State Auto Christmas Corner – walk around inside a life-size telling of the Christmas Story and check out their schedule for each weekend’s choir performances! For every photo posted on Instagram with #StateAutoChristmas2016, State Auto will donate $1 to Manna Café (up to $500)!

Downtown Columbus Holiday Lights Photo Contest – share your pictures on Instagram or post to their Facebook page with the hashtag #DowntownColumbus to enter the contest for a $20 gift card to a downtown restaurant!

Fantasy of Lights at Alum Creek State Park Campgrounds – take an in-car tour of this light show!

The Clippers have set a goal to get 600,000 fans in paid attendance this season! There are 5 home games left and they are dropping the price of all tickets to $5 for the rest of the season! There is a game on Saturday at 7:15 PM and a game on Sunday at 4:05 PM. Sunday will be Spirit Day, which means all kids 12 and under will get in free with any kind of Clippers shirt or cap! If they reach their goal of 600,000 fans, all play off games will be free!
