1. Conservatory Aglow is happening at Franklin Park Conservatory! Tickets must be purchased in advance.

2. Wildlights is in full swing all weekend at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Tickets must be purchased in advance.

3. Visit LEGOLAND Columbus Discovery Center at Easton Town Center. LEGOLAND is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this year. Purchase tickets online.

4. Drive through WonderLight’s Christmas in Ohio in Hebron, Ohio to see over 1 million synchronized LED lights! Open every night from 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM.

5. Christmas at the Castle, a Kingdom of Lights! at Landoll’s Mohican Castle features over 100,000 lights, a Christmas tree, holiday music and visits from Santa! This event will be $8.00 per car on Friday & Saturday nights, free Sunday-Thursday nights. This event begins on Friday, November 27th.

6. Drive through Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights, a holiday light display at Alum Creek Park Campground any night through January 3, 2020. 5:30 PM – 9:30. Ticket booth closes at 9:00 PM.

7. Take a road trip to visit the PNC Festival of Lights at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Reservations required.

8. For many people this is the week to get their Christmas Tree! Pick a farm or tree lot from this list of Christmas Tree Farms in Columbus and Beyond!

9. On Saturday and Sunday you can take a Holiday Carriage Ride at Easton Town Center!

10. Pick up a Family Gingerbread House Decorating kit from Young Chefs Academy of Gahanna.

11. Clifton Mill Lights opens the day after Thanksgiving! Gates open at 5:00 every night and the display runs through New Year’s Eve!

12. Take photos with Santa at Polaris Fashion Place. Check the link for times. Reservations encouraged.

13. Run the Chase Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot when it’s convenient for you! – use the code “esff” for $6 off your registration!

14. Drive through Light Up Camp at Flying Horse Farms beginning November 27.

15. Dazzling Christmas Lights in Westerville begin on November 27!

16. Take a trip to Cleveland for the Wild Winter Lights Drive Through in Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

17. Visit the Lucy Depp Park Light Show in Powell beginning November 27!

18. Visit the Holiday Lights at Columbus Commons! They will be lit every night from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM until January 3.

Columbus Drive-In Movie Experiences for Summer 2020

Local businesses are getting creative with their outdoor summer movies in 2020! Check out one of these drive-in movie options for your family this summer!

The summer of 2020 is unlike any other! The summer is usually packed full of movie deals and outdoor movies in every neighborhood and suburb. While the summer of 2020 isn’t going to look exactly like that, you don’ have to miss out on a movie under the stars!

Malls and theaters are opening their parking lots for drive in movies! Check out these movie options that are either happening every night or on a limited basis! And don’t forget South Drive-In Theatre which is  a permanent drive-in theater on the south side of Columbus!

1. Cinema Under the Stars at Polaris Fashion Place

Drive in movies will take place this weekend at Polaris Fashion Place in the JCPenney parking lot. The movies are free but you can reserve your ticket online. Different movies will be shown each night June 10-13th. Click the link for the line up.

2. Easton Sunset Series Drive-In at Easton Town Center

 

Drive in movies will be shown in the newest Easton development east of Nordstrom’s parking lot. They will take place every night and you must purchase your ticket in advance! Cost is $10 per car. Movies are announced on a weekly basis.

3. Parking Lot Cinema at the Marcus Pickerington Cinema

 

For seven days a week, Marcus Cinema Pickerington will be offering drive-in movies on the north side of their building. You can listen to the audio through your radio. Tickets and concessions are available in advance online. The food will be in a designated pick up area. Cash purchases will not be an option on site.

There will be two movies night, the first one starting at 9:15 PM. Friday June 12 will begin The Goonies and Twister. Movies will change each Friday for the coming week. Cost is $25 per car during the week and $30 per car Friday through Sunday. 

4. Pride of Ohio Drive-In Movie at Ohio History Center

Ohio History Center will be holding a summer series of Stephen Spielberg movies. (Spielberg was born in Ohio!). There will be 3 movies this summer and they will be held in a drive-in style in the parking lot! The movies are free, but you must register in advance.

There are two movie times for each date, 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Snack packs are also available for purchase. Dates will be June 13, July 11 and Aug, 8, 2020.

5. South Drive In Theatre

South Drive In is a permanent drive-in movie theatre. The theater is open weekends only. Online ticketing is available, however cards and cash will be accepted at the gate. Kids 4 and under are free every night and kids ages 5-12 are only $2. A concession stand and restrooms will also be available. There are two screens and 4 movies are shown each evening.

6. Drive-in Zoovies at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium 

Watch a movie in the parking lot at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Movies will be played on Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM. A different movie will be played each night. Movies are currently scheduled into mid July. Cost is $30 per vehicle for non-zoo members and $25 per vehicle for Zoo members (includes one free bag of popcorn for members). Add on a Zooper Snack Pack for $20 which includes 4 bottled beverages and 2 bags of popcorn. 

7. From Book to Film Outdoor Movie Series at Bridgeway Academy 

You’ll need to register in advance for this outdoor movie in the parking lot of the future home of Bridgeway Academy. You will be able to park in the lot and get out of your car to watch the movie in a socially distanced layout. They are asking for a suggested donation of $5/person or $20/family. The movie begins shortly after 8:00 PM on Saturday. The first movie of the Series takes place June 27th and will be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971 version). Future movies will be announced soon.

8. Free Friday Flicks in the Park

Register online to watch a movie in your car in the parking lot of the Community Center in Hilliard! There are two dates for this event: July 17 and August 14, 2020.

9. Community Drive In Movie Night at The Naz

Watch a free Drive-In Movie each Sunday night at The Naz Church at 6:30 PM. Register online to attend!

10. Gahanna Summer Drive-In Series

 

Head to Headley Park for drive-in concerts and movies! Register in advance if you want to attend!
