Coastline Coffee is a real vibe. If you are craving a trip to the California coast but can’t get there right now, take a trip to the shores of the Scioto visit Coastline Coffee in Delaware!
Whether it’s surfboards or skateboards, the decor is fun and has a really fresh feel! It’s like taking a mini beach vacation right here in Ohio! Okay, that might be a little bit of a stretch, but during Ohio winters, sometimes you just have to close your eyes and use your imagination.
My son and I visited this new coffee shop on a weekday and the shop was packed! Despite opening in late 2023, this coffee shop is already a popular spot! We split the s’mores bar and I had the signature latte: white chocolate sauce with blackberry syrup. It was delectable. My son also got a small hot chocolate which was just the perfect size for him!
There is a mix of seating here that includes tables and chairs and couches. The menu is divided into Coffee and Non Coffee drinks and there are rotating signature drinks. There is a parking lot in the back of the shop.
Coffeeology
- Address: 43 N Sandusky St, Delaware, OH 43015
- Website
Coffeeology in downtown Delaware, Ohio calls itself “A Collective of Our Favorite Things” and this is such a fitting description because Coffeeology is more than just a coffee shop! This shop happens to be a home goods shop that features national and local artisans as well as a destination for a good cup of coffee in Ohio!
Coffeeology has a large selection of hot and cold coffee drinks including cold brew and iced lattes. I visited this coffee shop with my two sons and all three of us chose a different cookie from their selection of baked goods. I got an iced latte which was fabulous on a hot summer day!
If coffee isn’t your thing you probably won’t be reading this blog post, but, just in case, they also offer non-coffee options like teas, matcha and fruit smoothies.
This large but cozy space has comfortable chairs and couches as well as tables for working or hanging out with friends. After we got our treats, we were off to explore downtown Delaware and the adorable Beanbag Books (which is included on my list of magical bookstores in Ohio)!
Fresh Start Cafe & Bakery
- Address: 24 N Sandusky St, Delaware, OH 43015
- Website
We discovered Fresh Start on our first-ever trip to Delaware! I took my boys here for a treat after we visited the popular “Dinosaur Park” for the first time several years ago! I decided to drive through downtown Delaware and see what we could find!
We stumbled upon Fresh Start and were not disappointed! Check out this pic (below) of my kids on their first visit, thoroughly enjoying their cupcakes! You can see more pictures from our very first visit to Fresh Start in my blog post about the Dinosaur Park in Delaware, (technically called Spray and Play at Veteran’s Park).
Since then, I have come to know Fresh Start as an integral part of the community in downtown Delaware! Owner, Todd is passionate about the community in Delaware and Fresh Start is dedicated to creating community through freshly baked goods, good coffee and conversation!
More recently, at an event at Fresh Start, I tried their New Orleans Cold Brew Coffee. The coffee is blended with chicory and sweetened with cane syrup and topped with half & half! It was so good, I had a second cup!
4. Choffey’s Coffee & Confections

Choffey’s Coffee & Confections is a shop in downtown Delaware that, in addition to coffee, also sells candy and chocolates. There is a cozy atmosphere with lots of seating.
The drink menu features brewed coffee, espresso-based drinks, Hartzler Milk, specialty drinks and coffee alternatives like tea and hot chocolate.
When I visited, I got an iced vanilla latte, which hit the spot on a hot day! Get your coffee to go or sit down with a friend and stay a while!
5. Cocinamos Bakery + Bistro

Cocinamos opened in downtown Delaware in 2024 and features a fusion of international flavors and American cuisine. The name “Cocinamos” means “let’s cook together”.
The bakery case is full of delicious-looking options, from savory pastries to layered cakes, and the restaurant serves breakfast and brunch.
When it comes to the beverage menu, it’s divided into hot and cold coffee drinks. There are some unique options like a Cortadito Espanol or Cafe Bombon. I chose the Caramel Affogato Latte which consists of double espresso, milk, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
I love the decor in this restaurant! It’s a gorgeous spot, so definitely plan to order your coffee and stay a while if you can!
