1. Disney’s The Lion King at Ohio Theatre

Watch the Broadway Show, Disney’s The Lion King at Ohio Theatre this weekend! Upcoming show times are Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Sunday at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

2. Make ART from the HEART with Seeds of Caring

Beat the heat with a fun (and caring) craft you can do indoors! In this Anywhere Project from Seeds of Caring, kind kids ages 6-12 will create bedside art for hospice patients served by OhioHealth. Use our free template and any art supplies you have onhand to share smiles and happiness through August 31!

3. Commons for Kids at Columbus Commons

Each Friday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Columbus Commons, kids of all ages can enjoy activities like free carousel rides, lawn games, and activities by community partners. This week’s theme is Games.

4. Leaping Lizards Adventure at Hilliard Library

Learn about unique reptiles and take photos with snakes and other reptiles at the Hilliard Branch of CML on Friday at 10:00 AM.

5. Riddle Me These, Please at Slate Run Farm

Pick up a list of riddles at the Slate Run Farmhouse and explore the farmhouse to find the answers on Friday from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

6. ComFest 2024

ComFest takes place June 28-30 in Goodale Park. This community festival features live music and performances, vendors, art, food trucks and more! There will be kid-friendly entertainment and a KiDSART Area. Kids can also join in a kids’ parade on Sunday at 3:00 PM. See the online brochure at the link above for the most info.

7. From Book to Film at Gateway Film Center

On Friday or Saturday at 1:30 PM, get free admission to see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (PG) at Gateway Film Center with your library card as part of the Book to Film series!

8. Visit with a Fire Truck at Hanby Park

Stop by Hanby Park on Friday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM to explore a fire truck from the Westerville Division of Fire. Kids can also check out books about fire trucks and take home an activity packet.

9. Summer Concert at Bicentennial Park

Enjoy a free concert in Bicentennial Park on Friday beginning at 5:30 PM. There will be food trucks, a DJ and live music. This Friday will feature DJ Tom Butler and Nick Tolford & Company with Food Trucks Mustafa’s Halal Gyro and Ono Turo Turo.

10. 1999 Movie Rewind at Easton Town Center

Celebrate 25 years of Easton Town Center with a movie from the 90’s. Beginning at 6:00 PM on Friday at the Town Square, enjoy family-friendly activities and entertainment and then watch Toy Story 2 at 8:00 PM. Honey and Blue will perform classic Disney songs from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.

11. Movie Nights at Topiary Park

This Friday at Topiary Park, watch the movie Rent (PG-13), enjoy food trucks, trivia, cornhole and entertainment before the film (beginning at 8:00 PM). Movie starts around sunset.

12. Try it! Kayaking at Quarry Trails Metro Park

Enjoy kayaking on the lake at Quarry Trails Metro Park on Saturday between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Solo kayaks are available for ages 10 and up and tandem kayaks will be available for all ages. All equipment will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

13. Summer in the Center at Ohio History Center

Summer at Ohio History Center this weekend features a 1950’s Road Trip activity on Saturday at 11:00 AM. This event is included with admission or membership and is great for kids ages 6-12.

14. Kids Series at Grandview Theater & Drafthouse

This Saturday at 11:00 AM, watch Land Before Time at Grandview Theatre and Drafthouse. Admission is free for kids!

15. Farm Animal Event at Whitehall Library

Bring the. Farm to You will bring farm animals to the Whitehall Branch of CML on Saturday from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Kids will be able to pet the animals.

16. LEGO Club at Grove City Library

LEGO Club takes place on Saturday from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM at Grove City Library. Kids in grades K-5 can build through LEGO challenges or free play with LEGO bricks!

17. Touch It – Robots at Old Worthington Library

Kids ages 4-8 can drop into the Old Worthington Library to explore iPads and interactive toys from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Saturday

18. Somali Cultural Festival at Innis Park

On Saturday from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM enjoy a day of celebration of the culture of Somalia. There will be performances, food, cultural exhibits, tradtional music and dance, vendors and more!

19. The Grandview Hop

Grandview Avenue will be closed between 1st Ave and 5th Ave for a half mile long stretch of pop-up vendors, artists, food trucks, live music and more on Saturday from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

20. Bats and Lightning Bugs at Three Creeks Metro Park

Learn about bats and lightening bugs on a short walk at Three Creeks Metro Park. Meet at the Heron Pond bulletin board at 8:30 PM on Saturday.

21. Flutter Run at Franklin Park Conservatory

Support Franklin Park Conservatory and celebrate 30 years of Blooms & Butterflies by participating in a 5K Run/Walk or a Caterpillar Crawl Kids Run (or as a spectator) on Sunday beginning at 8:30 AM. Register online.

22. Bison Baby Shower at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

Drop by the Summer Pasture at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park on Sunday between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to play baby shower games and celebrate the new arrivals at the park. The pasture is a 5-minute hike from the Nature Center.

23. Sundays with the Symphony in Westgate Park

Enjoy a concert by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra on Sunday evening in Westgate Park. Free ice cream will be available beginning at 6:45 PM and the concert starts at 7:00 PM.
