Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

1. Tabletop Garage Sale at Tabletop Game Cafe

Purchase gently used games from Tabletop Game Cafe or get new games for a discount. All games are sold as is. The sale takes place daily January 23-28th.

2. The Worries of Wesley at The Riffe Center

This show is specially geared toward kids who are aged 8-14 and features Wesley, a kid who has anxiety and goes on a journey of self-discovery. The play is 45 minutes long with a talkback session following the show. Showtimes begin on Thursday at 7:00 PM and continue throughout the weekend as well as the first two weekends in February.

3. Sock Skating at Main Library

Take off your skates and “sock skate” on a synthetic ice rink at the Main Library! While you’re there, check out historic skating memorabilia in preparation for the U.S. Figure Skating Championship coming to Columbus this month! This activity is available every day during regular business hours at the library.

4. Riverside Crossing Park Ice Rink

This temporary ice rink is right near the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge and will be open for skating on Friday nights and on Saturday and Sunday! This rink will be up through mid-March. Related: 28 Fun Things to do in Dublin, Ohio

5. Baby Activity Time at Dublin Library

This event on Friday at 10:30 AM is perfect for babies ages 0-18 months and includes songs, rhymes and hands-on fun!

6. Sunset and S’mores at Quarry Trails Metro Park

On Friday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Quarry Trails, enjoy watching the sunset while eating a s’more! There will be a campfire and all s’more-making equipment will be provided!

7. BHoles at Block Fort

BHoles is a family-friendly, artist-created mini golf course at BLockfort. You can enjoy this course on Friday through Saturday. Check the link for hours and pricing.

8. Clear Creek Winter at Clear Creek Metro Park

Take a self-guided hike at Clear Creek Metro Park and enjoy refreshments at the Barnaby Hambleton area from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday.

9. Three Creeks Winter Hike at Three Creeks Metro Park

Take a self-guided hike at Three Creeks Metro Park and hot cocoa and treats at the Confluence area from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday.

10. Wild Ohio at Ohio History Center

This annual event takes place on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Ohio History Center and includes lots of opportunities to learn about the plants and animals that call Ohio home. Check the link for the schedule of events that includes beekeeping, special tours, worm composting, a visit from COSI, a fossil ID table and much more!

11. Children’s Book Reading with Nancy Kerrigan at Main Library

Register in advance for this reading of Stronger Than She Thinks by author and Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan. This book is recommended for ages 4-8 and the reading will take place on Saturday at 11:30 AM.

12. Five Senses Hike at Blacklick Woods

Go on a 1.5 mike to find things you can touch, see, smell, hear and taste in nature on Saturday at 2:00 PM! All ages welcome.

13. Snow Much Fun at Canal Winchester Library

On Saturday from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM where will be family-friendly activities with a snow theme! All ages welcome.

14. Try It! Archery at Blacklick Woods Golf Course

Learn archery skills on Sunday from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM at the Blacklick Woods Golf Course Pro Shop! Equipment and instruction will be provided. Ages 8 and up.

15. The Ohio Princess Ball

The Ohio Princess Ball takes place at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and includes your favorite fairytale characters! This will be an interactive show that includes activities with the princesses, dancing, and more! This event takes place on Sunday and there are two show options: 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Tickets are available online.

16. Family Concert with ProMusica at Tremont Road Branch of UA Library

Enjoy a free concert at the Tremont Road Branch of UA Public Library on Sunday at 3:00 PM. ProMusica will present a family-friendly concert titled “A Day at the Zoo”. All ages welcome.

17. What Do Animals Do in the Winter? At Blacklick Woods Nature Center

On Sunday at 3:00 PM, learn how the animals at Blacklick Woods hibernate, migrate and adapt to make it through winter! You can look for birds and mammals along the way. Meet at the Blacklick Woods Nature Center.

18. Book Drive to Celebrate Dr. King’s Legacy with Seeds of Caring

Make a difference in our community with Seeds of Caring’s age-appropriate guided discussion around diversity and social action. Kind kids can also donate new or gently used books that feature characters of color and decorate a bookmark for the Read to Succeed Foundation. Participate in this group-friendly Anywhere Project through Jan. 29!
