Looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohio–based events and activities!

1. All Ohio Balloon Fest
The All Ohio Balloon Fest takes place in Marysville from August 12-14, 2021. There will be a Kids Fun Space on Friday and Saturday from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The event features hot air balloon rides, food vendors, a laser light show, liver performances and more. Kids 10 and under are free.
2. The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival
The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival takes place August 12-14, 2021 and includes live music, a car show, Kids’ Zone, and many more events and activities! Admission is free.
3. Aminah Celebration Days at Columbus Museum of Art
Admission to the Columbus Museum of Art will be free this weekend Friday August 13 – Sunday August 15 to celebrate the legacy of Aminah Robinson. This will include free admission to the Raggin’ On special exhibition! There will be special events throughout the weekend. Register in advance!
4. Main Event – TROLLS WORLD TOUR!
The Main Event takes place in Schneider Park Athletic Field in Bexley. There will be a showing of the movie Trolls World Tour, food trucks and activities! Activities begin at 6:00 PM on Friday.
5. Summer Movie Series: The Greatest Showman at Thompson Park
Watch The Greatest Showman at Thompson Park. Activities begin at 6:30 PM on Friday night and the movie starts at 9:00 PM. There will be lots of activities for kids plus an appearance from The Amazing Giants with stilt walking and fire performing!
6. Farmers’ Festival at North Market
The annual Farmer’s Festival takes place on Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. and includes a farmers market, face painting, cooking competitions, live music, samples, demonstrations and more!
7. Bonus Art Brunch with The Artmobile!
On Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM The Artmobile will be onsite with an art project for kids ages 5-15. Kids can make 2 crafts – one to hang in 3060 Gallery and one to take home. There will be live music and the Biscuit Boss Food Truck.
8. Free Comic Book Day at Packrat Comics
Free Comic Book Day at Packrat Comics takes place on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and includes a Touch-A-Truck, cosplay, a fundraiser for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a food truck, bicycle obstacle course, costume contest and more!
9. Peach Fest 2021 at Lynd Fruit Farm
Peach Fest takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and includes samples of peach products, free wagon wides, live music, Kids Corner and more!
10. Kids & Cops Day 2021 at Ohio University Lancaster
This is a free event on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM where kids can check out S.W.A.T vehicles, cruisers and the equipment first responders use in everyday life. There will be free food and the first 500 children will receive a free t-shirt.
11. Storybook Village at Ohio Village
Storybook Village features your favorite storybook characters come to life! This is perfect for kids ages 6 and under! Explore Ohio Village and meet and greet your favorite characters like Rapunzel, Prince Charming, Pete the Cat and more! Timed tickets are required.
12. Flying Monkey Comics and Games Free Comic Book Day 2021
Celebrate Free Comic Book Day on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM. There will be special guests and free comics!
13. PBJ & Jazz featuring Mary McClendon at Topiary Park
This event includes a 1 hour long, family-friendly jazz concert. This concert features the music of Ella Fitzgerald. Kids will get an art activity to take home at the end.
14. Kayaking and Ice Cream
Learn the basics of kayaking with a 30 minute free float and free ice cream from Sticky Fingers! All ages are welcome. Kids 12 and under are required to have an adult guardian. Several time slots are available on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
15. Stories on Saturdays at Dublin Toy Emporium
Reserve a space ahead of time for this free story time on Saturday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. There will be story time and a craft.
16. Sunday Funday: A Tribute to Fair Food
Head to Old Worthington on Sunday from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM for a fair-themed day. There will be food trucks, special menus at local restaurants, live music, activities and more!
