Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohio–based events and activities!

1. Skate Around Town At Easton
This weekend Friday through Sunday head over to Easton for some ice skating! Check the link listed for times. Skaters can enjoy fun on the synthetic ice at no cost. There is no need to bring your own skates, they will be available at the event. Please note, the number of skaters may be limited at any given time due to demand. All skaters must sign a waiver on-site prior to skating.
2. Hope for Hospitalized Kids and their Families with Seeds of Caring
Here in Central Ohio, we are lucky to have the Ronald McDonald House helping families when their kids are in the hospital for an extended time. Join us in giving them hope and encouragement during their stay by assembling snack bags and making cheer cards while, at the same time, learning about empathy and making a difference (now with a NEW discussion guide!). We are collecting bags through March 1 so sign up today!
3. The Works Around Town: All About Bobcats
Visit The Works on Friday February 18th for the fun series “ Around Town” where each week there is a new topic to explore each week with your little ones! This week the topic will be All About Bobcats! This event starts at 9:30am and is included with admission. Recommended for ages 2-6.
4. Harrier and Short Ears At Battelle Darby Creek
Visit Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park on Friday February 18th at 5pm, where you can explore the wetlands while looking for Harries and Short-eared Owls. This is a short prairie hike, but be sure to dress for muddy conditions. Meet at 1378 Darby Creek Dr. Galloway, OH 43119.
5. The Great Backyard Bird Count At Infirmary Mound Park
At 9am on Saturday February 19th visit Infirmary Mound Park to take part in an annual science event of bird watching that engages bird watchers of all ages. Stop at the James Bradley Center for a short presentation on Ohio birds, while enjoying a hot beverage and a pastry. Then head out to count birds and have fun while helping contribute to science! This is for all ages and registration online is required.
6. PBJ & Jazz: Samba School At Club Lincoln
Visit Club Lincoln on the morning of Saturday February 19th for PB & Jazz featuring vocalist Kelly Delaveris who will teach all about the art of samba and more! This is a short interactive concert, designed to introduce jazz and American music to young children and their families. Tickets and times available in the link above.
7. Busy Bees Penguin Day!
Visit Busy Bees Pottery & Arts Studio in Dublin Saturday February 19th between 10am & 5pm to make a fun penguin themed project! Tickets and pricing available online.
8. Unicorn Party At Tremont Library
Visit the Tremont Library at 10:30am on Saturday February 19th for a unicorn party! This party will be featuring unicorn crafts, games and activities. This event is recommended for K-5. No registration required.

9. Drop By: Backyard Birds At Highbanks Metro Park
On Saturday February 19th drop by the nature center at Highbanks anytime between 11am and 1pm to learn about birds through self-guided activities. Play bird battle and learn what are favorite foods at the bird feeders, make seed art outside, fill the beak, and more. Don’t forget to grab your take-home activity packet before you leave. This event is recommended for ages 5+
10. Teen Film Summit At Columbus Museum Of Art
Saturday February 19th from 11am-2pm CMA will be hosting a Teen Film Summit for ages 13-19. Hakim Callwood, Ted Cadillac and Donte Woods-Spikes will each present for artist’s talks. Artists will host a Q & A with teens, where they share how film and media play a role with their creative pursuits. In addition to the artist’s talks, teens will be provided with drinks and snacks. Also happening today from 11am-2pm at CMA is Open Studio where all ages are welcome to come create, think and make like artists. These are both FREE drop-in programs that do not require registration. Event is included with admission.
11. Open Studio: Glass Fusing At The Works
Make a glass clover at The Works on Saturday February 19th between noon-3pm. This event is for ages 4+ with the help of a grown up. Your clover will be ready for pick up the following week at the museum. Price depends upon the size of clover you choose to make. No registration required, event is available with admission to The Works.
12. Family Canvas Paint Workshop At Art Garden Academy
Visit the Art Garden Academy on Saturday February 19th at 1pm and create a fun painting together as a family. Tickets and pricing available online.
13. Marbling Arts Class At Brush Crazy
Visit Brush Crazy on Saturday February 19th from 3-5pm and make your very own marbling art! Upon combining your favorite colors into a bed of shaving cream you will add a ceramic of choice to create a fun and interesting piece of art! Tickets and reservations available online.
14. Off The Beaten Path At Battelle Darby Creek
Visit Battelle Darby Creek and go off the beaten path for a challenging hike into the woods. This event is held on Sunday February 20th at 10am. Wear clothing for muddy conditions. Meet at the nature center.

15. 4th Annual Mother/Daughter Tea With Beauty Belle
Sunday February 20th choose from two different time sessions to attend the 4th Annual Mother/Daughter Tea With Beauty Belle! Wear your favorite princess dress, sing & dance with Princess Belle, decorate cupcakes to enjoy with tea, create a sparkly craft and enjoy an interactive storytime. This event is recommended for ages 4+ Tickets, times and pricing available online.
16. Great Backyard Bird Count At Homestead Park
Observe and record birds as a citizen scientist and support a global effort while doing so, at Homestead Park on Sunday February 20th at 1pm. Meet at the Barn Shelter. All ages are welcome.
