1. Obetz Zucchini Festival

2. Kid’s Fest in Downtown Newark

When: Friday, August 26, 2016
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Downtown Newark

It’s Final Friday in downtown Newark and the Kid’s Fest will feature a petting zoo, bounce house, snow cones, a magic show and more! At dusk, the movie Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! will be shown!

3. Railroad Open House at Preservation Parks

Visit the Big Walnut Community Trailhouse to see model train displays by the The Delaware County Model Railroaders! The open house is free!

4. Hoot 66: Cats at Gateway Film Center

Come watch family-friendly short films, dance to music by the Shazzbots! and enjoy activities with piccadilly! Admission is free when you bring a canned good to donate to The Open Shelter.

5. Ohio Proud Summer Fest at Easton Town Center

6. Good 4 U: A Health and Vendor Affair at Lynd Fruit Farm

When: Saturday, August 27, 2016

This health fair will include free health screenings, free samples as well as kids’ activities like face painting, wagon rides, the Bug Lady, horses, dogs and more! Gala apples are available for picking this weekend from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

7. Galena Summerfest

When: Saturday, August 27, 2016
Time: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Location: Galena Square, 19 Columbus St., Galena, OH 43021

This festival features live music, food, live performances and for the kids, pony rides, balloon twisting face painting, crafts and wagon tours! There will be a free shuttle to and from the Sunbury Sizzle & Sounds Festival!

8. Monarch Weekend at Blendon Woods Metro Park

When: Saturday & Sunday, August 27 & 28, 2016

Learn all about monarch butterflies and caterpillars! There will be crafts, activities and hikes with the naturalists at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM to try to catch wild monarchs in the field!

9. WALL -E at Sharon Woods Metro Park

There will be family-friendly activities before the movie, which will start at dark. Popcorn will be provided! Bring your own seating.

10. Grandview Hop Block Party

Location: Grandview Avenue, Grandview Heights

Stroll down Grandview Avenue during the end of summer Block Party! This will be the last Grandview Hop of the summer! Check out street vendors, art, food and drinks, live music, local shopping and other fun activities!

11. Local Author Book Festival at Westerville Public Library

When: Sunday, August 28, 2016
Time: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Meet and greet 50 local authors, purchase books of all genres, including children’s books and enter to win door prizes! There will be food trucks on site!

12. Spirit Day at Columbus Clippers

When: Sunday, August 28, 2016
Time: 4:05 PM
Location: 330 Huntington Park Ln, Columbus, OH 43215

The Clippers have set a goal to get 600,000 fans in paid attendance this season! There are 5 home games left and they are dropping the price of all tickets to $5 for the rest of the season! There is a game on Saturday at 7:15 PM and a game on Sunday at 4:05 PM. Sunday will be Spirit Day, which means all kids 12 and under will get in free with any kind of Clippers shirt or cap! If they reach their goal of 600,000 fans, all play off games will be free!
