Over 35 family-friendly events happening in Columbus, Ohio this weekend!

FRIDAY:

9:00 AM – Clearance Sale at the Ohio Expo Center – shop the Half Price Books Clearance sale on Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Everything is $2 or less! Parking is $5.

9:00 AM – Cake Ball with Admission at Tree of Life Play + Cafe – get a free cake ball with the purchase of admission today only from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM!

10:00 AM – Commons for Kids at Columbus Commons – this week at the Commons features Ohio State Athletics, Pretty as a Princess, Columbus Folk Music Society, free kiddie fitness classes and Lowe’s Home Improvement! As always, free carousel rides and bounce houses will be on site along with other activities!

10:00 AM – Big Machines at COSI – kids can climb up and even operate some BIG machines outside of COSI through June 24th! Learn about the science and technology of construction! (This event is going on now through Sunday!)

10:30 AM – KidX at Polaris Fashion Place – this free event happens outside at the fountain and includes fun activities every week. This week’s theme is Teddy Bear Tidy Up. Bring your teddy bear for a check up from the Teddy Bear Doctor.

10:00 AM – Forest Fridays at Sunbury Urban Farm – join a nature counselor for a forest playtime! There will be a 30 minute nature activity plus free play time outside in the woods. Ideal for ages 2-5. This is a free event but donations are accepted.

11:00 AM – From Book to Film at Gateway Film Center – watch a movie based on a book for free with your library card! This week you can watch The Neverending Story any day (of the week!) at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM.

11:00 AM – Kids Concert on the Green at Worthington Village Green – enjoy a kid-friendly concert with the band Endless Recess!

1:00 PM – Summer Parenting Workshop at Little Arrows Play Cafe – let the kids play at the play area while you learn about positive discipline from local experts!

2:00 PM – Harry Potter Escape Room at Grove City Library – solve puzzles and escape the Harry Potter themed escape room! Grades 5 and up.

4:00 PM – 19th Annual Easton Art Affair at Easton Town Center – the Easton Art Affair happens Friday from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM and features a juried fine art show, street fair and art made by kids too!

6:00 PM – Sprouts Night Out at Hilliard’s Station Park – enjoy live music, food trucks and activities including body art, stilt walkers and pop up art with the Arts Council!

6:00 PM – Mount Carmel St. Ann’s 4th Friday: Safety Fest in Uptown Westerville – this month’s theme is Safety! There will be fun activities for all ages, street vendors, food trucks, live entertainment and more!

6:00 PM – Creekside Live at Creekside Gahanna – enjoy live music by Will Freed and the Reaganomics!

7:00 PM – Summer Sizzle Concert Series at Grove City Town Center – enjoy a live concert by Agent 99 who plays 70’s and 80’s music!

7:00 PM – Folk Songs Around the Fire at Gallant Farm Park – all ages are welcome to sing, play or listen to music around the campfire! Bring your own instrument!

8:30 PM – Friday Night Flicks: Beauty and the Beast at Sycamore Park Amphitheater – this free movie begins at dusk! Bring a chair and/or blanket.

8:30 PM – Family Movie Night: The Lion King at Weinland Park, Columbus – watch a free movie in the park! Bring lawn chairs and blankets.

9:00 PM – Movie in the Park – Honey I Shrunk the Kids at Sunny 95 Park – watch a free movie in the park! Movie begins at dusk. Bring a lawn chair and/or blanket!

SATURDAY:

9:00 AM – Waffle Bar! at Coffee Connections of Hilliard, LLC – enjoy a waffle with unlimited toppings, coffee and juice for $5/person.

9:30 AM – National Day of Play! at Gymboree Play and Music of Gahanna – enjoy a free day of play and activities for kids ages 0-5!

10:00 AM – Dressing Victorian at Ohio Village – learn what it means to dress like a Victorian, enjoy crafts from the 1890’s and learn more about fashion in the 1890’s! Included with admission or membership.

10:00 AM – Dublin Kiwanis 51st Annual Frog Jump Festival at Coffman Park – kids 12 and under can participate in the frog jump! Come and cheer on the competitors!

10:00 AM – Author and Illustrator Daniel Kirk at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers  – enjoy a story time and book signing with award winning author and illustrator, Daniel C. Kirk.

10:00 AM – Playdates at the Park w/ 614Mom– at Hilliard’s Station Park – moms and kids are welcome to join Eryn from 614Mom and Coffee Connections for a playdate in the park.

11:00 AM – Pollinator Palooza at Franklin Park Conservatory – celebrate National Pollinator Week with food trucks, food demonstrations, live music, The Bugman, Stinger from the Columbus Blue Jackets, a walk through the garden to observe bees in action and lots of other educational information and activities!

11:00 AM – Tanger Food Truck Festival at Tanger Outlets, Columbus – this food truck festival includes activities for kids like face painting, caricatures, arts and crafts and a DJ!

1:00 PM – Family Fun with the Bison at Battelle Darby Nature Center – learn about the bison of Ohio with games, crafts and snacks! Take a walk out to view the bison with a naturalist.

2:00 PM – Fun at the Frog Fountain at Easton Town Center – hang out by the frog fountains outside American Girl for caricature artists, face painting and balloon artists! This happens on Saturdays AND Sundays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

6:00 PM – Pelotonia: Movie Night in The Shoe – Ohio State Buckeyes – watch Coco in The Shoe! $5 donation per person supports Pelotonia!

6:30 PM – Exotics on Scioto Mile 2018 at The Scioto Mile – enjoy a display of over 100 exotic cars! There will also be food trucks on site!

7:00 PM – Summer Nights Series at Miller Pool – “Dive-In” Movie at Miller Pool – watch the movie Early Man from the pool! Free popcorn! Kids under two are admitted free. Advance tickets are recommended.

SUNDAY: 

11:00 AM – German Village Makers Market in German Village – enjoy an outdoor artisan market at the corner of City Park & Thurman Ave featuring local artists, designers and growers. There will also be food trucks and live music. This event is pet and family friendly!

11:00 AM – Sunday Family Fun Day at The Draft Room – kids can enjoy free crafts provided by Arts in Uptown and there will be drink specials for the adults!

2:00 PM – For Families: Wildlife Hike at Highbanks Metro Park – take a one mile hike along the Scenic River Trail with a naturalist!

2:00 PM – Fun at the Frog Fountain at Easton Town Center – hang out by the frog fountains outside American Girl for caricature artists, face painting and balloon artists! This happens on Saturdays AND Sundays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

6:30 PM – Summer Solstice Celebration at Grange Insurance Audubon Center – welcome summer with snacks, stories, crafts and a hike! RSVP by 5:00 on Thursday!
