4 Fantastic Coffee Shops in Westerville, Ohio

This list of coffee shops in Westerville, Ohio will help you find a great cup of coffee near you whenever you’re in town!

I’m on a mission to visit every coffee shop in Central Ohio! It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!

If you’re in the Westerville area and looking for delicious coffee, I’ve got the answer! Uptown Westerville is home to two locally-owned coffee shops and if you expand beyond Uptown, there are even more options awaiting you with good food, good times and, most importantly, good coffee!

1. Espresso Air

This super cute coffee shop in Uptown Westerville has an airplane theme and I love it! The seating area here is small so this is more of a take-out coffee shop. Luckily for you, Espresso Air is in the heart of Uptown Westerville and there are a ton of cute shops within walking distance of this coffee shop!

On my first visit to Espresso Air had an iced Mocha and it hit the spot! I walked across the street to some nearby shops including Ohio Art Market which is home to a collection of handmade items by Ohio artists! Uptown Westerville is seriously cute so plan to spend some time uptown after getting your coffee! (Check out my list of things to do in Westerville for more ideas!)

More recently I tried the Blue Sky which has espresso, lavender and vanilla. I am usually pretty traditional with my drinks so lavender was a stretch for me. I loved it! I would absolutely get that latte again!

2. Family Room Coffee & Bake Shop

This coffee shop in Westerville offers an extensive menu of “fancy drinks” that changes with the season and some unique sparkling drinks I hadn’t seen before. There is a large variety of coffee drinks available here! Choosing is the hard part! 

I tried something new (pictured above) when I visited! I ordered an iced London Fog. I’ve always had them hot in the past but I was intrigued by the idea of having one iced! They add a couple of pumps of vanilla syrup to the tea and milk and it was super good!

With a large seating area, this is a place where you can hang out with the whole family!

Family Room has a cute area with toys and games for kids. It’s a family-friendly coffee shop that also hosts special events and classes. They are also famous for their cinnamon rolls, but I confess I haven’t had one yet!

If you’re looking for a place to get your caffeine fix WITH your kids, this is it! Don’t pass this destination up!

3. Java Central Café and Roaster

Java Central Cafe is another option for coffee in Uptown Westerville! This coffee shop has been a Westerville institution since 2007! It was also mentioned in one of my earliest blog posts when I met a friend there for coffee and then took our kids to Alum Creek Park, a nearby Westerville park! (I’ve learned a lot about blogging since I wrote that post, so cut me some slack LOL!)

On my most recent visit I ordered an Uptown Mocha which is made with dark chocolate. Java Central offers pretty much any kind of coffee drink you can imagine including cold brew by the gallon, specialty espresso drinks, and coffee flights!

Don’t let the first room of Java Central fool you! This coffee shop has a ton of seating available in adjacent rooms that just seem to continue appearing on your way down the hallway! There is even a room with a piano and the back room serves as an art gallery with lots of artwork on the walls! It would be a great place for a coffee date with a friend in Uptown Westerville!

4. Ethos + Co Cafe

Ethos Cafe is a great coffee shop in Westerville, Ohio with a huge indoor seating and gathering area. They are a community-focused coffee shop with a food pantry onsite.

With a lot of indoor seating and a shelf of board games that can be used in the shop, this is the perfect place for a coffee lover to hang out with friends or bring their laptop to work.

Ethos uses Florin Coffee and has a lot of really yummy-looking baked goods from local partners! We tried the pie bar and it was delicious! In addition to the typical coffee drinks and teas, their menu also includes alternative milks, a root beer float (made with Johnson’s Ice Cream), and a hot chocolate sized just for kids! They also serve smoothies and smoothie bowls!

What is unique about Ethos Cafe is that they are a non-profit coffee shop. All of their profits are donated to local organizations! Check their Instagram page (linked above) to see their current partners.

The only catch here is that Ethos Cafe is not open on the weekends, so you’ll have to try out this Westerville coffee shop during the week between 7:00 AM-4:00 PM.
