Extreme Milkshakes and mega-sized ice cream sandwiches are just a few of the over-the-top desserts taking Columbus by storm! This list will take you on a tour of some of the best places for dessert in Columbus, Ohio!
We already know that Columbus is home to some of the most unique ice cream in Ohio! But it seems that lately we just can’t be content with a simple scoop of ice cream on top of a cone! The best desserts in Columbus are combinations of SEVERAL desserts wrapped up in one!
Who wants just ice cream when you can have it smashed between two cookies or two cupcakes? Who wants a plain fruit salad when you can have it swirled with a spicy sauce and mango ice cream? And what about those extreme milkshakes that are essentially 5 desserts in one?

Read on to find out where you can find these extreme desserts in Columbus, Ohio!
1. The Mangonada at Dulce Vida
Locations:
- 4201 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43228
- 1127 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43201
- 2400 Home Acre Dr., Columbus, OH 43231

What is a Mangodada? Mix fresh cut mangos, mango ice cream, chamoy hot sauce and tamarind for a cold, yet hot, sweet but spicy treat! This has to be one of the most unique combinations when it comes to ice cream treats!

Dulce Vida is home to a lot of really unique Mexican ice cream treats and desserts! With three locations in Columbus, you’re never very far from some of my favorite desserts! In fact, I’ve included Dulce Vida West on my Unofficial West Side Ice Cream Trail!
2. Skyscraper Milkshakes at Forty Deuce
Location: 3959 Brighton Rose Sq., Columbus, OH 43219
Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce is home to (at the time of writing) 6 “legendary” Skyscraper Milkshakes! Whether your dessert cravings are chocolate based or fruity, you will find something that hits the spot on the menu at this restaurant at Easton Town Center.

The Buckeye, pictured above includes Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, a slice of chocolate peanut butter mousse pie, mini buckeyes, a mini-Reese’s cup and whipped cream. While some might consider a slice of mousse pie dessert in itself, they would be setting their sights too low! Go extreme with one of these crazy milkshakes!

3. The S’wich at S’wich Social
Location: 869 N. 4th St., Columbus, OH 43201

Mega ice cream sandwiches are the name of the game at S’wich Social in the Short North Arts District of Columbus! Start with a huge homemade cookie and your chosen your ice cream flavor. Then the ice cream cookie gets rolled into the toppings of your choice!

Cookies come in unique flavors like Couch Potato, Confetti Sugar and Brownie Bash! Choose from around a dozen ice cream flavors including rotating seasonal favorites! Toppings can range from Sprinkles to Cocoa Pebbles to Mini M&M’s!
These sandwiches are HUGE! In case you can’t quite fit it into your mouth (which I can promise is going to be an issue) you could opt for The S’wich Sundae or a shareable version, The S’wich Split! Whichever way you choose, you can’t go wrong!
4. The Smallcakes Smash at Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery
Location: 1249 N. Hamilton Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230

When a cupcake just isn’t enough, you’ve got to go for the Smallcakes Smash! Cut that cupcake in half and smash some ice cream in the middle! Check out that “Viewing Area” in the middle of the cup where you can see your ice cream choice!

Smallcakes bakes 18 signature flavors of cupcakes each morning including rotating seasonal and special flavors like pumpkin spice, peppermint crunch and gingerbread. Coordinating homemade ice cream flavors are also available!
Located in Gahanna, Smallcakes will satisfy your craving for ice cream, cupcakes or, if you can’t decide, both of them combined!
5. Crazy Shakes at Sugar Rush
Location: 8130 E. Broad St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068

Sugar Rush in Reynoldsburg is the perfect place to achieve exactly what the name implies! Their Crazy Shakes come in two sizes: extreme and personal. The extreme size comes with a mashup cookie, full size cupcake, milkshake and additional toppings!
If that sounds like just a little bit much, go for the personal size which comes with a sugar cookie, standard cupcake, milkshake and a sweet garnish!

If milkshakes aren’t your thing, you can choose from their wide selection of cookies, cake pops, cupcakes and ice cream flavors! Sugar Rush also makes custom cakes for birthday parties and special occasions!
The question is . . . which extreme dessert will you try first?
