Family-Friendly Things to do in Columbus, Ohio This Weekend:

1. Think Outside the Brick at Columbus Museum of Art

Visit Think Outside The Brick, the annual LEGO display at the Columbus Museum of Art by Ohio LEGO Users’s Group. There will be a museum-wide scavenger hunt, a LEGO brick-building zone and more! This exhibit is included in admission and will be on display daily through March 13, 2025. Don’t forget Sundays are free!

2. Calling All Kind Kids! Show Care to Local Unhoused Youth with Seeds of Caring

Each year, thousands of Franklin County youth experience homelessness and need a trusted place to turn for help. For many, Huckleberry House is that place. In this Anywhere Project from Seeds of Caring, kids 4-12 will assemble personal care kits and create messages of caring for youth supported by Huckleberry House. Families and groups can participate any time through March 23 and drop off completed kits on a Seeds of Caring Ambassador’s porch March 21-23.

3. Book Sale at Old Worthington Library

Shop for gently used books at the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries book sale this weekend at Old Worthington Library. Hours are Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

4. Underground Railroad in Central Ohio Exhibit at Northside Library

View an Underground Railroad exhibit at the Northside Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library during regular library hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

5. Wild Wetland Walk at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

Take a walk through the wetlands on Friday at 11:00 AM to learn about the animals that live in the wetlands at Battelle Darby Creek. Boots recommended!

6. Riverside Crossing Park Ice Rink

This ice rink in Dublin is open on Fridays from 5–10 p.m., Saturdays from noon–10 p.m. and Sundays from noon–8 p.m. Cost is $12 per person and skates are available for sizes Youth 9 – Adult 13. You may also bring your own skates.

7. 101 Dalmatians Kids at Sunbury Performing Arts

There are six chances to see 101 Dalmations Kids this weekend at The Bridge Church in Sunbury! Performances run Friday through Sunday and tickets are limited!

8. Blooms and Butterflies Opening Day at Franklin Park Conservatory

Blooms and Butterflies opens on Saturday at 10:00 AM and you can walk amongst the butterflies and watch them hatch in the Metamorphis Lab at Franklin Park Conservatory through July 6. On opening day (Saturday) between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM you can do a Sand Art craft for $4/person. The butterfly experience is included in admission or membership.

9. Maple Sugar Fest at Stratford Ecological Center

On Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM celebrate the maple sugar season at Stratford Ecological Center. Learn to tap a tree and taste maple sap and syrup. Take a tour of the greenhouse, meet farm animals and more. Tickets are available online.

10. Valentine’s Story Hour at The Bibliophile Candle Co

Enjoy a Valentine’s-themed storytime at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Bibliophile Candle Co.

11. Puzzle Exchange at Whetstone Library

Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle at this puzzle exchange between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Saturday at the Whetstone Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library.

12. Maple Time at Slate Run Farm

Between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, watch sap boiling and sample maple treats at the Farmhouse at Slate Run Farm. At 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM there will be hikes through the sugarbursh.

13. Community Joy Film Series at McConnell Arts Center

The Community Joy Film Series features free movies hosted at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington throughout January and February. Screenings are free but reservations are required. Get your tickets for Inside Out 2 showing this Saturday at 2:00 PM.

14. Make Your Own Dope Slime at The Fun Company

Make your own Dope Slime with your favorite “toppings” at The Fun Company in Bellefontaine on Sunday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Spaces are limited and tickets are available online.

15. Winter Hike Celebration at Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Celebrate the Winter Hike Series at Blacklick Woods Golf Course on Sunday between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Hike one of the paths and collect your Winter Hike prize. Enjoy hot chocolate and a campfire.

16. DIY Sugar Scrub at Westerville Public Library

Teens ages 12-18 can pick up a DIY sugar scrub kit at the desk at the teen area on Sunday during library hours: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

17. Urban Strings Columbus Youth Orchestra at Main Library

Enjoy upbeat music from popular African-American composers performed by the Urban Strings Columbus Youth Orchestra on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Main Library.

18. Strange Serpents at Blendon Woods Metro Park

Learn about snakes on Sunday at 3:00 PM and meet some slithery friends at Blendon Woods Nature Center. (Read my post about all of the great Nature Centers around Columbus!)
