Family-Friendly Events in Columbus This Weekend:
1. Photos with the Easter Bunny at Polaris Fashion Place
Get your photo with the Easter Bunny at Polaris Fashion Place through March 30th! All kids 13 and under who visit the Easter Bunny will get a free small gelato from I Scream Gelato. Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are recommended. Sensitive Bunny time slots are available.
2. Blooms and Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory
Blooms and Butterflies is open at Franklin Park Conservatory! You can walk through the Pacific Island Water Garden to see free-flying butterflies. Check out the Metamorphosis Lab to see new butterflies emerge from their chrysalis. Daily hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
3. Kids’ Book Drive Through with Seeds of Caring
Help Seeds of Caring and 2nd & 7 make sure every child has access to books in their home! Kids 2-12 will learn about literacy and service through a video and age-appropriate discussion, then color bookmarks and select 2+ gently used or new children’s books to donate. Families and groups may participate any time through April 14.
4. Aladdin Shrine Circus at Ohio Expo Center
The Aladdin Shrine Circus takes place at The Celeste Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are seven shows throughout the weekend beginning on Friday at 3:00 PM and the last show on Sunday at 5:00 PM!
5. An Evening with Author Mindy McGinnis at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers
This event at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers takes place on Friday at 6:00 PM and features Ohio author Mindy McGinnis and her new Young Adult book Under This Red Rock. This book is recommended for ages 14 and up. (Read more about Cover to Cover here!)
6. Friday Night Family GLOW Skate at Skate Zone 71
Families can enjoy laser tag games and a family meal deal on Friday night from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM. Glow sticks will be available to purchase.
7. Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat at Columbus Children’s Theatre
See Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat performed for young children on Saturday and Sunday at CCT. There are four performances each day: 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The show is 45 minutes long.
8. Opening Day at Olentangy Caverns
Opening Day at Olentangy Caverns will include Der Dutchman Donut Truck, free arts and crafts, McGinnis’ Grill Food Truck, balloon animals with Erica Carlson and Sedige the Hedgehog and face painting! The arts and crafts, balloon animals and face painting are free! This event will take place on Saturday from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
9. Bunny Trail at McNamara Park
On Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM collect candy along a 1/3 mile walking path at McNamara Park and look for bunnies hiding in the woods. There will also be a train ride through the park, games, touch-a-truck, balloon twisting, meet and greet with firefighter, a therapy dog and the Easter Bunny!
10. Whitehall History Day at Whitehall Library
Celebrate Whitehall History Day at the Whitehall Branch of CML on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with a day of special programming featuring the history of the city.
11. Grand Opening Celebration at Bricks & Minifigs Powell
This Grand Opening Celebration includes face painting, balloon artists, superheroes, cookies, freebies, hot chocolate, coffee and more! This event takes place on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
12. Egg Hunt at Hannah Park
Kids ages 10 and under can participate in a Eggs-hilarating Egg Hunt at Hannah Park. There will be kid-friendly activities and a visit from the Easter Bunny. A Sensory Friendly timeslot is available from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM. Register in advance.
13. Helicopter Egg Drop at Nuvo Church
This Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and includes inflatables, food trucks and 10,000 Easter Eggs being dropped from a helicopter!
14. Easter Party at Carfagnas
This Easter Party takes place on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM and includes free food samples, face painting, wine crafts and more! A storewide Easter Egg Hunt will take place at noon. RSVP is requested but not required.
15. Baby Prom at Worthington Park Library
Dress up for this fancy event on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM that includes dancing, photos, crafts and more at Worthington Park Library!
16. Eclipse Storytime at Main Library
Enjoy stories, books and songs with an eclipse theme at the Main Library on Saturday at 11:00 AM! This event is great for ages 6 and under.
17. Drop In: Spring Family Fun at Highbanks Metro Park
Drop into the Nature Center at Highbanks Metro Park on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM for spring crafts, a campfire and s’mores and other activities!
18. Eclipse Kids Create at Reynoldsburg Library
Get ready for the solar eclipse with a creative art time for tweens (ages 7-11) at the Reynoldsburg Branch of CML from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday.
19. Visit with Columbus Astronomy at Westerville Public Library
Learn about space and the stars in preparation for the upcoming solar eclipse! Each family will get their own pair of eclipse glasses while supplies last. This event takes place on Saturday at 4:00 PM. (Read about more things to do in Westerville!)
20. Powell’s Best Easter Egg Hunt at KSM Sports and Fitness
On Sunday from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM, kids can hunt for Easter eggs at KSM Sports and Fitness! Bring a camera to take your picture with the Easter Bunny! The Egg hunts are divided by age groups. Tickets are available online.
21. Bird Food Craft at Quarry Trails Metro Park
Make a bird food craft to take home at Quarry Trails Metro Park! All supplies provided for this event on Sunday from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.
22. Leprechaun vs. Easter Bunny Escape Trail at Blacklick Woods Metro Park
Solve problems and unlock clues along a 1.5 mile Escape Trail at Blacklick Woods on Sunday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
23. Strange Serpents at Blendon Woods Metro Park
Learn all about snakes and meet a few, too, at this event on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Blendon Woods Nature Center.
24. Dog Man Party at Bexley Public Library
This Dog Man party celebrates the newest Dog Man Release, The Scarlet Shredder! This event is put on by Gramercy Books and The Bexley Public Library and will take place in the library’s auditorium on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
25. Elephant and Piggie Party at Old Worthington Library
This party will offer crafts, songs and a visit from Elephant and Piggie! This event is on Sunday from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM and is for kids ages 8 and under.
