Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohio–based events and activities!
1. Think Outside the Brick at Columbus Museum of Art
Visit Think Outside The Brick, the annual LEGO display at the Columbus Museum of Art by Ohio LEGO Users’s Group. There will be a museum-wide scavenger hunt, a LEGO brick-building zone and more! This exhibit is included in admission and will be on display daily through March 13, 2025. Don’t forget Sundays are free!
2. Wizard of Oz at Grandview Heights High School
The Grandview Heights Performing Arts department presents The Wizard of Oz this weekend at Grandview Heights High School. Show times are Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

3. Baby & Me Tour at Columbus Museum of Art
This specialty tour is for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers on Friday at 10:30 AM. Explore a multi-sensory gallery with activities to promote language development and social connection. Register online.
4. Columbus Pet Expo at Ohio Expo Center
The Columbus Pet Expo includes family-friendly shows, Wiener Dog Olympics, reptile adventures, dog trainers, contests and more. The show takes places Friday from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Tickets are available online.
5. Friday Fun at the Gahanna Library
Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM there will be a Chemistry Demo Lab at Gahanna Library where you can watch chemistry demonstrations by the OSU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
6. Teens Create at the Whetstone Library
Teens can create their own songs, play instruments, explore music software and more at this Songwriting Club at Whetstone Library on Friday from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
7. Riverside Crossing Park Ice Rink
This ice rink in Dublin is open on Fridays from 5–10 p.m., Saturdays from noon–10 p.m. and Sundays from noon–8 p.m. Cost is $12 per person and skates are available for sizes Youth 9 – Adult 13. You may also bring your own skates.
8. Star Gazing at Alley Park
Look for stars, planets and the quarter moon at Alley Park in Lancaster on Friday at 6:00 PM.

9. Sunset and S’mores at Quarry Trails Metro Park
Watch the sunset and make s’mores around a campfire at Quarry Trails Metro Park on Friday at 6:00 PM. Supplies will be provided.
10. Into the Woods at Palace Theatre
This performance of Into the Woods benefits the Butterfly Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital! Performances take place on Friday at 7:00 PM, Saturday at 1:00 PM (a family-friendly performance featuring the First Act only) and 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
11. Matilda Jr. at Hilliard Civic & Cultural Arts Center
Hilliard Arts Council presents Matilda Jr. on Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 11:00 AM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Tickets are available online.
12. Mom Life Kiddie Konsignment Sale
Shop for gently used kids’ clothing, toys, maternity items, baby gear, strollers and more at this consignment sale at Grace Polaris on Saturday. Early Bird Shoppers can enter at 8:00 AM for $5 Cash Only/Person The regular sale is from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM with free admission. The sale then reopens for a half-price sale from 1:00 PM – 2:0) PM (also free).
13. Spring Puppet Show at Whetstone Library
Enjoy a 2 puppet shows based on picture books by the Teen Advisory Board at Whetstone Library on Saturday at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
14. Columbus Cookie Run & Walk
This event includes 1mi, 5K and 10K runs as well as a Kids Cookie Dash on Saturday. All racers will get a cookie, swag and more when they finish their race! Races begin at 10:00 AM.
15. Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. at Abbey Theatre
Enjoy a kid-friendly perforance of the 70s classic School House Rock with shows on Saturday at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM and Sunday at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The show is 1 hour long.
16. Pokémon Go! Hike at Homestead Metro Park
Bring your own device to find Pokémon around Homestead Metro Park on Saturday from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM. Meet at the Homestead Barn Shelter. Read about all there is to do at Homestead Metro Park to round out your visit!
17. Nintendo Day at Worthington Park Library
Enjoy an afternoon filled with Nintendo-themed activities throughout Worthington Park Library on Saturday from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. There will be crafts, life-sized games, console gaming, a costume contest, kazoo and sing-along and more!
18. Ohio Roller Derby at Ohio Expo Center
Doors open at 4:00 PM on Saturday for Ohio Roller Derby. Games will take place at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Games are kid-friendly and children 7 and under are free.
19. Amphibian Hike at Rocky Fork Metro Park
Take a 1.5 mile off-trail hike to look for amphibians in the vernal pools at Rocky Fork Metro Park on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Wear waterproof boots!
20. Spring Concert at Main Library
Enjoy a free concert by Jazz Arts Group Youth Combos on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the auditorium at Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Library.
21. Family Games and Crafts at Westerville Public Library
Enjoy crafts and games for the whole family at Westerville Public Library on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Suitable for ages 2-11 and their caregivers.
22. SPRING into reading with Seeds of Caring
Help Seeds of Caring and 2nd & 7 make sure every child has access to books in their home. In this FREE service project, kids 2-12 will learn about the importance of reading through a video and age-appropriate discussion, then color bookmarks and select 2+ gently used or new children’s books to donate to young bookworms. This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are through April 13!
