Celebrate Independence Day in Central Ohio with one of these parades, firework displays or community celebrations! There are so many 4th of July Celebrations around Columbus!
This year, the 4th of July falls on a Thursday so you can find community celebrations happening throughout the entire week and weekend! Columbus’ main event is Red, White and Boom, the largest firework display in Central Ohio, and it happens on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
Fourth of July Celebrations in Columbus and Central Ohio:
Red White and Boom – You can begin celebrating on July 2nd with a Charity Day 5K. All ages are welcome to participate. The Ford Oval honor Red, White & BOOM Parade takes place at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, July 3rd and the entire day (beginning at 11:00 AM) is filled with activities like a street festival, live music, food vendors and the fireworks show at 10:00 PM.
Grove City – the fun begins on July 4th at 6:00 PM with children’s activities, inflatables and a rock climbing wall. The fireworks show begins at Grove City High School at 9:40 PM.
Westerville – a full day of activities on Independence Day happens in Westerville with a 5K Run & Walk, a parade, family fun zone including food trucks and live music, and the fireworks at 10:0 PM.
Worthington – Independence Day in Worthington includes the Rotary Family Picnic with food, music, Supergames and lots of festivities! The fireworks begin at 10:00 PM.
Delaware – celebrate July 4th in Delaware with a parade at 3:00 PM, an outdoor concert at Ohio Wesleyan University at 7:30 PM and fireworks beginning at 10:00 PM.
Reynoldsburg – Independence Day Festivities in Reynoldsburg take place on July 3rd from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and include live music, inflatables and food trucks. The fireworks begin at 9:45 PM. Celebrate Independence Day with a parade at 9:00 AM on July 4th.
Hilliard – Begin the 4th of July with a parade at 9:00 AM. Freedom Fest in Hilliard takes place at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park and includes live music, food trucks, a Kids Zone with SuperGames and Fireworks. The park opens at 11:30 AM and Freedom Fest begins at 3:00 PM. The fireworks begin at dusk.
Lewis Center – the Olentangy Summer Bash includes live music, food trucks, a kids area with inflatables and other activities and fireworks. Gates open at 4:00 PM and the fireworks begin at 10:00 PM.Tickets are available online.
Upper Arlington – 4th of July celebrations in Upper Arlington begin with a community parade at 9:00 am, the Party in the Park at 5:00 PM and fireworks at 10:00 PM.
Bexley – begin the 4th of July in Bexley with the John Barr 5K Run, a parade at 9:30 AM, a Community Celebration on the front lawn of Capital University and fireworks at 10:00 PM.
Lancaster – the 4th of July parade in Lancaster begins at 10:00 AM from the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. The day continues with rides, concessions and entertainment at the Fairgrounds and fireworks at 10:00 PM.
Clintonville – celebrate the 4th of July in Clintonville with a Run/Walk, Community Breakfast, Pet and Bike parades, baseball games, fishing derby, music and concessions and fireworks at 10:00 PM.
Sunbury – the 4th of July celebrations begin at 7:00 AM with an Arts and Crafts Fair, a parade at 10:00 AM, a Kids Zone on the Square, a hot dog eating contest, race and fireworks at dusk!
Gahanna – celebrate Independence Day in Gahanna with a parade at 10:30 AM, a Community Family Day at Creekside Park and Plaza with live music, an activity area, food vendors and more. Fireworks begin at 10:00 PM>
Obetz – this 4th of July celebration at Fortress Obetz includes games, fireworks, inflatables, giveaways and more! The gates open at 6:00 PM for this free event. Friwaorks begin at 9:50 PM.
Granville – celebrate Independence Day with concessions and rides from Wednesday through Saturday in Downtown Granville. Celebrate the 4th of July with a race and parade, a pet contest, concert and more! Fireworks take place on Friday night at 10:00 PM at Wildwood Park.

We can't go because it's during naptime, but I'd highly recommend the Doodah parade at 1pm on the 4th in the Short North too.
