1. Play Arcade Games for Free at Level One Bar + Arcade
- Address: 130 Hutchinson Ave, Columbus, OH 43235

Level One Bar + Arcade is tons of fun for all ages! We have taken our boys there a couple of times and they think it is the coolest thing! They can play any arcade game they want, for free!
This “bar-cade” is family-friendly between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. All other hours are 21+ only! So depending on your age and family situation, choose your hours accordingly!
As mentioned, the arcade games are free to play, as long as you buy a drink! There is a huge bar menu and quite a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails, too! They even sell Capri Sun!
Pinball games are $.50 to play so bring quarters (they also have a change machine on site)!
2. See Model Trains at Central Ohio Model Railroad Club

The COMRC opens their space for regular open houses throughout the year! They have multiple model train lay outs including HO scale, O gauge, N scale and Scale models. There is a Thomas & Friends train that kids can operate!
Open house hours have typically taken place during the summer months and over the holiday season. We have visited during their Holiday Open House which takes place on the weekends beginning Thanksgiving weekend and lasting through at least January 1st!

3. Eat at Joya’s
- Address: 657 High St, Worthington, OH 43085
- Website
Joya’s is one of the hottest restaurants in Central Ohio right now. Chef Avishar Barua is a graduate of Ohio State University and the Culinary Apprenticeship program at Columbus State Community College and he competed on Top Chef Season 18. He also (spoiler alert) beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network Show Beat Bobby Flay.
Joya’s Cafe is a Bengali American restaurant in Old Worthington and it is always packed! I’ve been fortunate enough to eat some of their delicious food off-site at local events so I can attest that it is delicious.
I stopped into Joya’s just before they closed one afternoon to snag a Joya’s Latte which includes sweetened condensed milk, espresso and textured milk. It was delicious! If you get a chance, you should definitely get the brown butter rice krispie treat!
4. Climb and Play at Selby Park
- Address: 358 Selby Blvd. S., Worthington, OH 43085
- Website
Selby Park was newly remodeled a few years ago making it one a super fun playground in Worthington! There is a lot of fun to be had here including unique climbing walls and a large net structure to climb on! This park is also home to a lot of swings, including three face-to-face swings!
This playground has artificial turf which is great for keeping kids out of the mud! There are also picnic tables, a shelter house and restrooms.

AR Workshop is a fun space where you can get creative with your family or a group of friends! This workshop in Old Worthington offers workshops where you can paint wooden signs, knit chunky blankets, or make any number of creative projects!
AR Workshop hosts events (think showers and birthday parties)! They also have summer camps for kids and DIY take-home kits!
I had fun painting a decorative sign! It’s an easy way to get creative without having to purchase and prep all the materials yourself! My family has also done their take-home holiday ornaments and given them as gifts!
It’s also worth stopping in to check out their boutique! I myself have purchased premade items there as well as a super cute pair of earrings I couldn’t pass up!
6. Watch Your Pizza Be Made at Dewey’s Pizza
- Address: 640 High St, Worthington, OH 43085
- Website
If we’re looking for a family-friendly restaurant in Old Worthington, Dewey’s is our go-to! Pizza is always a winner for our family and our kids love to watch the pizza being made behind the large window at the front of the restaurant.
I’m a fan of the salads at Dewey’s and our go-to pizza order is the Bronx Bomber! I recommend booking a table online ahead of time! It’s easy to do that on their website and makes for a shorter wait!
Dewey’s is located in the heart of Old Worthington so it makes for a great spot to eat when exploring the area! During the holiday season, you could eat dinner at Dewey’s and then check out all of the decorated shop windows!

Pictured below is the Monster Cookie! Some of my other personal favorites are Puppy Chow, Cookies and Cream and classic Chocolate Chip!
Lion Cub’s Cookies offers a 2-hour rule! The cookies on display have been out of the oven for no longer than 2 hours, so you know they are going to be fresh! (And those that have been out longer than 2 hours are donated within the local community!)
