1. Share Kindness (& Snacks!) with Kids Staying at CHOICES

Through Sept. 17, kids ages 6-12 can explore kindness and self-care in this Anywhere Project from Seeds of Caring. Helping hands will then share that kindness by packing 5+ snack kits and making cheer cards for kids staying at CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence.

2. EcoKids at The Works

Learn about habitats and the natural world in the outdoor habitat exhibit at The Works! This event takes place every Friday from 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM and is included with admission. Perfect for ages 3-6.

3. S’Miles of Sunflowers at Lynd Fruit Farm

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM take a free wagon ride to apple cannons, kids zone and sunflowers at the Pataskala Farm. Cost is $10/person. 5 and under free.

4. Book to Film Series at Gateway Film Center

This movie series featuring movies based on books is free with your library card! August 25-27 the film will be Ready Player One and the showings are at 2:00 PM each day. This movie is recommended for ages 11-17.

5. Wildflowers Throughout the Season at Blacklick Woods Nature Center

On Friday at 6:00 PM, take a 1 mile hike through a field to learn about what blooms in August at Blacklick Woods Metro Park.

6. Movie Night at Blacklick Woods Golf Course

Watch the movie Happy Gilmore at Blacklick Woods Golf Course. Bring a chair! This free movie begins on Friday night at dusk.

7. Ultraviolet Night Hike at Blendon Woods Nature Center

Take a night hike using a blacklight to see hidden colors at Blendon Woods Metro Park on Friday at 8:00 PM.

8. StoryTime Live at Kiddie Academy

See Elephant and Piggy at Kiddie Academy of Westerville on Saturday at 10:00 AM. There will be activities for all ages.

9. Barbie Truck Dreamhouse Living Tour at Easton Town Center

The Barbie Truck will be popping up at Easton Town Center on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM featuring exclusive merch! The truck will be parked near Crate & Barrel in the South District.

10. WAG Fest

Wag Fest takes place on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Prairie Oaks Metro Park and includes activities for dogs and their people! There will be trails to hike, lakes to swim in, dog-related vendors and service providers on site!

12. Kids in the Glow at Blendon Woods Metro Park

Learn about animals that use bioluminescence and make glow-in-the dark crafts at Blendon Woods Nature Center on Saturday at 10:00 AM.

13. Celebrate International Dog Day at Swensons Drive-In

Celebrate your furry friend by getting them a treat off the special Doggie Menu at Swensons Drive-In on Saturday! Choices include a Doggie Boy, Doggie Burger and a Peanut Butter Pup Cup.

14. An Afternoon with Author Erik Jon Slangerup at Cover to Cover

On Saturday at 1:00 PM, local author Erik Jon Slangerup will be at Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers featuring his middle reader novel Molly and the Mutants. Ideal for ages 8-12.

15. Open House at Century Village

On Saturday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM you can tour Century Village in Grove City including the Orders Road Schoolhouse, log cabins, the train depot and other historic buildings.

16. Summer Music Series in Historic Dublin

Enjoy live music in Historic Dublin on Saturday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

17. The Columbus Mothers of Twins Clothing & Equipment Sale

This Sunday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Resolute Athletic Complex, shop a large consignment sale for fall and winter clothing, equipment, maternity items and more! Shop early for a cause by donating $2 beginning at 7:00 AM.

18. Marion Village Festival in Moeler Park

This free festival includes vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, live music, interactive art, activities for kids, a silent auction, and more! The festival takes place in Moeller Park on Sunday from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

19. Sundays in the Park in Topiary Park

This Sunday in Topiary Park and Kaufman Plaza enjoy food trucks, live music, games. Event begins at 1:00 PM. Food Trucks this week will be: Graeters and Galaxy Coffee.

20. Blacklick Creek Exploration

On Sunday at 1:00 PM, take a 2-mile round trip hike to Blacklick Creek to wade in the water and discover crayfish, insects and fish.

21. Columbus International Festa-val at Franklin County Fairgrounds

Celebrate over 60 countries in our Central Ohio community! This family-friendly festival highlights food, fashion, music, dance and art! The festival takes place on Sunday from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Tickets are available online.

22. Music in the Garden at Olde Towne East Community Gardens

Enjoy a free concert by Hosea’s State of Mind in Olde Town East Community Gardens on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
