Family-Friendly Things to do in Columbus, Ohio This Weekend:

1. The Worries of Wesley at The Riffe Center

This show is specially geared toward kids who are aged 8-14 and features Wesley, a kid who has anxiety and goes on a journey of self-discovery. The play is 45 minutes long with a talkback session following the show. Showtimes begin on Thursday at 7:00 PM and continue through Sunday. (For more info, see our Instagram post about the show!)

2. Valentine’s Pop Up Shop at Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor

Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor will be open for a Valentine’s Pop-Up Shop Friday through Sunday from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM each day. There will be Valentine’s specials!

3. Riverside Crossing Park Ice Rink

This temporary ice rink is right near the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge and will be open for skating on Friday nights and on Saturday and Sunday! This rink will be up through mid-March.

4. Happy Birthdays for CELC Families with Seeds of Caring

Through March 3, kids 2-12 can practice the power of kindness and give all kids in our community the opportunity to celebrate their birthday. Helping hands will pack Birthday Bags with cake mix, frosting, candles, and more for families enrolled at Columbus Early Learning Centers. This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!

5. Valentine’s Day Carriage Rides at Easton Town Center

Carriage rides will be available at Easton Town Center this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Rides are $10/person and children under 15 years of age ride free with a paying adult.

6. Valentine’s Day Party at Family Room Coffee & Bakeshop

This kid-focused Valentine’s party will include a snack, kid’s drink, craft and games. The party takes place on Friday from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Cost is $15/child. Read more about this family-friendly coffee shop in Westerville!

7. Baby Shark’s Big Broadwave Tour at Mershon Auditorium

Dive into action and help Baby Shark and his JAWsome friends face their greatest challenge yet! This is one FINcredible live show coming to Columbus this weekend with one show on Friday night and two shows on Saturday. Use discount code SPLASH to save 25% on tickets.

8. Hilltop Hop at Broad & Westmoor

The Hilltop Hop takes place on the second Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This Saturday, Slice of Heaven Bakery will pop up at The Design Refinery, there will be Valentine’s painting available at Clay Street Ceramics and more!

9. Valentine’s Mini-Market at North Market Downtown

This Mini Market at North Market Downtown will take place on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and will feature vendors, ingredients for your Valentine’s meal, a DJ, merchant specials and flowers.

10. Glacier Ridge Winter Hike

Hike any trail at Glacier Ridge Metro Park as part of the Winter Hike Series. On Saturday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM refreshments and treats will be served.

11. Super Saturdays at Main Library

This Super Saturday includes programming with a Columbus Black History Theme. From 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM join in with special events and learning opportunities. At 2:00 PM kids can create their own works of art inspired by artist Aminah Robinson (great for ages 12 and up).

12. Story Time at Gallant Farm

This storytime on Saturday at 10:30 AM will feature a wintery theme with stories and a craft.

13. Family Friendly Valentine’s Mini Workshop at AR Workshop Worthington

This Valentine’s Crafternoon offers the opportunity to make a painted wood project. There are projects available for adults and kids. This event takes place on Saturday at 12:00 PM. Seats are limited.

14. Sensory Bin Experience at Whetstone Library

Kids aged 3-11 who have sensory needs can explore bins filled with tactile materials in a welcoming environment on Saturday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

15. Music Series Flautango Latin Music at Gahanna Library

This performance will feature Latin music by Flautango and will take place at the Gahanna Branch of CML on Saturday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

16. Nothin’ but Skin n’ Bones at Mohican State Park Nature Center

Take a trip to Mohican State Park to learn about and touch native Ohio furs and skulls. This event will take place at the Nature Center at the Class A Campground on Saturday at 2:30 PM.

17. OFC Valentine Family Fun Event at COhatch at Polaris Mall

Olentagy First Church is hosting a free Valentine Family Fun Event at COhatch Polaris West at Polaris Mall on Saturday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. There will be 3 different activities including cookie decorating, card making and origami, plus hot chocolate. RSVP is requested on the Facebook event.

18. Ohio Roller Derby at Ohio Expo Center

Check out the home opener of the Ohio Roller Derby on Saturday at the Ohio Expo Center. The doors open at 4:00 PM with two games: one at 5:00 PM and one at 7:00 PM. Games are kid-friendly and children 7 and under are free

19. Give that Girl the Mic at Riffe Center Theatres

Give That Girl the Mic is a talent showcase for girls ages 5-18. The environment is set to create a healthy culture for girls to celebrate and cheer on other girls and expose girls to organizations that have performing arts programs just for them. Come watch the show on Saturday night! Doors open at 6:00 PM and tickets are available online.

20. Second Sunday Open House at Ohio Wildlife Center

Ohio Wildlife Center opens its doors to the public on the second Sunday of each month to meet animal ambassadors! This month the new Executive Director will be going for a meet and greet. This is a free event from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and donations are accepted.
