Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these 12 family-friendly Columbus and Ohio–based events and activities!

1. Columbus Symphony Orchestra Kids Korner
Check out the Kids Korner website where you can take a virtual tour of Ohio Theatre, print coloring pages of instruments and composers, learn how to read music, learn about composers and play games!
2. DIY Winter Hike with Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks
Winter Hikes are happening at your own pace this year and each month different parks are featured. Pick up a Winter Hike Passport from a staff member and collect a patch for completing 7 hikes.
3. Uplift Frontline Workers with Seeds of Caring
This is an activity that can be done from home at anytime before January 31, 2021. Your family can create “cheer cards” and mail them to frontline healthcare workers at Mt. Carmel. This is a free opportunity. When you register you will receive an service project packet that will give you instructions and guided discussion ideas.
4. Half Priced Admission at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
From January 4-February 28, 2021, admission is half priced to Columbus Zoo! The Zoo will be open from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM daily. At this time, timed tickets are not required though capacity is limited.
5. Cinnamon Roll Saturday with Fourteen Twenty Nine
Fourteen Twenty Nine is launching same day ordering at their new storefront! If you’re lucky enough to be reading this on Wednesday before 9:00 PM, you pre-order their brown butter cinnamon rolls and other treats! If it’s after Wednesday, you will be able to use same-day ordering on Saturday and stop by to pick up your order from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Inventory is not guaranteed for same day ordering.
6. Handmade Hat & Scarf Giveaway at Southwest Public Libraries
Do you need a hat or scarf for the winter? Pick up a free handmade hat or scarf at either location of Southwest Public Libraries between 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday while supplies last.

7. Free Admission to Columbus Museum of Art
The Columbus Museum of Art is free to visit on 5 Saturdays in January! Visitors on Saturdays will also receive a 30% discount at the Museum Store and the Schokko Café. The museum is also always free on Sundays! Hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on the weekends.
8. KidX: Hibernation Bag Pickup + Scavenger Hunt at Polaris Fashion Place
On Saturday from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM, pick up a Hibernation Bag on the Lower Level at Polaris Fashion Place and complete a scavenger hunt to win a prize.
9. Kids Korner Virtual Paint Party
Take a virtual painting class via Zoom and paint flying kites! The class takes place on Sunday at 12:00 PM. $10/person. Register online.
10. DIY Hot Chocolate Heart Bombs at Dublin Toy Emporium
Make a snowman melt for your hot chocolate! Make marshmallows and DIY hot chocolate bombs. One family per session. Reservations required. Reservations available between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Saturday.
11. Winter Carriage Rides at Easton Town Center
Winter Carriage Rides will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays until February 14, 2021. Rides are $10/person (cash only). Children under age 15 ride for free with a paying adult. Hours are Saturday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM and Sunday: 3:00 PM-7:00 PM.
12. Paper Charades: Kids Edition! with The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum
On Sunday at 4:00 PM you can join The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum for an interactive game of Paper Charades. Top YA cartoonists will draw prompts and you can guess what they are. This event takes place on Zoom and registration is required.
