Family-Friendly Events in Columbus This Weekend:
1. Photos with the Easter Bunny at Polaris Fashion Place
Get your photo with the Easter Bunny at Polaris Fashion Place through March 30th! All kids 13 and under who visit the Easter Bunny will get a free small gelato from I Scream Gelato. Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are recommended. Sensitive Bunny time slots are available.
2. Blooms and Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory
Blooms and Butterflies is open at Franklin Park Conservatory! You can walk through the Pacific Island Water Garden to see free-flying butterflies. Check out the Metamorphosis Lab to see new butterflies emerge from their chrysalis. Daily hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
3. Final Weekend! Spring Break Snack Kits with Seeds of Caring
Calling all kind kids! Did you know your favorite snacks can make a difference for local kids in need? In this Anywhere Project, kids 2-12 will learn about hunger in our community. Then helping hands will make Snack Bags and cheer cards that the New Albany Food Pantry will distribute over Spring Break. This fun project runs through March 17.
4. Spring Big Book Sale at Columbus Metropolitan Library
The Spring Book Sale takes place at the Main Library on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. A Bag Sale takes place on Sunday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Books and audio materials for all ages will be available starting at $1.
5. Magical “Top-o-the-Morning” Storytime at Coffee Connections of Hilliard
Join Erica Carlson and Sedgie the Hedgie for a St. Patrick’s Day Storytime at Coffee Connections of Hilliard on Friday at 10:00 AM. This event is free but they will be accepting canned good donations to the Hilliard Food Pantry.
6. Bingo Night at Family Room Coffee & Bakeshop
Bingo Night is Friday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Family Room Coffee & Bake Shop. Admission is free for all ages and you can win treats and goodies.
7. Friday Night Family GLOW Skate at Skate Zone 71
Families can enjoy laster tag games and a family meal deal on Friday night from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM. Glow sticks will be available to purchase.
8. Leprechaun Hike at Quarry Trails Metro Park
Take a hike around Quarry Trails Metro Park to look for 12 hidden Leprechauns. Find a ranger to get a prize on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
9. Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat at Columbus Children’s Theatre
See Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat performed for young children on Saturday and Sunday at CCT. There are four performances each day: 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The show is 45 minutes long.
10. Spring Mom Life Kiddie Konsignment Sale at Grace Polaris Church
Shop this consignment sale on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Enter early at 8:00 AM for $5 or shop the half-price sale from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Grace Polaris Church. Items include baby, kids and tweens clothing, toys, maternity items, strollers and more!
11. Rainbows, Reading & Storytime at Coffee Connections of Hilliard
Join local teacher and author Mrs. Hayes for a storytime about inclusion and Down Syndrome at Coffee Connections of Hilliard on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Meet the author and purchase signed copies of the book. There will also be activities for kids.
12. Family Storytime with Twinkle the Service Dog at Westerville Public Library
This event for kids ages 2-7 features a meet and greet with Twinkle the service dog, stories, rhymes, songs and a dog craft. The event takes place on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Westerville Public Library.
13. Spring Fling at Oakland Nursery (Columbus)
Oakland Columbus Garden Center is celebrating with their annual Spring Fling on March 16, 17, 23 and 24. There will be a train display from the Columbus Railway Society, Wild Hearts African Farm, a Fairy Garden Q&A and more! Activities take place between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
14. Drop In: Leprechaun (and more) Trail for Families at High Banks Metro Park
Hike a 1/4 mile trail around the Nature Center at Highbanks Metro Park to look for hidden St. Patrick’s Day items on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Paper copies of the trail will be available in the Nature Center. Stop back for a prize!
15. Easter on the Farm at Kuhlwein’s Farm Market
From 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, Easter Bunny, Ziggy the Zebra and more at Kuhlwein’s Farm Market in Hilliard.
16. Pokémon Go! Community Day Hike at Glacier Ridge Metro Park
Play Pokémon Go at Glacier Ridge Metro Park on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Meet at the Shelter House.
17. Music Series at the Gahanna Library
On Saturday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM enjoy a live musical performance from Wygrass at the Gahanna Branch of CML. Music style is bluegrass, folk, country and a little bit of rock!
18. Signs of Spring at Blacklick Woods
Take a 1.25 mile hike through the Walter Tucker Nature Preserve at Blacklick Woods Metro Park to look for signs of spring on Saturday from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Meet at the Nature Center.
19. KID RAVE: A Family Friendly EDM Event at Skully’s Music Diner
This event at Skully’s on Sunday from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM is geared towards kids ages 4-12 and will feature electronic music, face painting, arts and crafts and info about Djing and music production. Tickets are available online.
20. Lookin’ for Leprechauns at Sharon Woods Metro Park
Find one of the 100 leprechauns hiding in Sharon Woods Park and return it to the Naturalist office between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Sunday for a prize.
21. Sunday Family Funday St. Paddy’s Edition at The Draft Room
This event at The Draft Room includes free crafts and fun for kids plus brews and comradery for the grown-ups on Sunday from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
22. Shamrock N’ Roll at Skate Zone 71
Wear green for $1 off admission at Skate Zone 71’s St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock N’ Roll event on Sunday. Skate times are 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
23. St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt at Homestead Metro Park
Do a St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt at Homestead Metro Park on Sunday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Start at the barn shelter. There will be prizes, crafts and more!
24. Family Storytime at Main Library
Join a Family Storytime at the Main Library on Sunday at 1:30 PM including fun books and activities.
25. Shamrock Shoot at Scioto Grove Metro Park
Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with free archery at the Scioto Grove Archery Range. This event is on Sunday from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM and is for kids ages 8 and up.
