Summer Reading Clubs can keep kids entertained and motivated over the summer! Check out this list of Columbus and Central Ohio Summer Reading Programs hosted by local libraries!
As an adult winner of a Summer Reading Challenge prize a few years ago, I can personally say that these Summer Reading Programs are for all ages!
Check out one (or more) of these Central Ohio Summer Reading Programs to keep your kids focused on the goal! There are prizes involved and some of them are pretty cool!
Columbus Metropolitan Library
Theme: Summer Reading Challenge
Dates: June 1 – July 31, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Sign up at one of the library branches or download the Beanstack App. Track your reading online or on the app in order to be entered into raffles for prizes like gift cards, books, a bike and more!

Worthington Libraries
Theme: Aim for the Stars
Dates: May 25-July 30, 2023
Ages: All ages
Get prizes for reading, attending programs or completing DIY or early literacy activities! Complete your reading record, turn it in and receive your prize. There are prizes for signing, up too.

Westerville Public Library
Theme: Read & Make a Splash!
Dates: May 26-July 31, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Set your own reading goal and once you reach your goal, stop by the library to pick up your prize! Prizes include a VISA gift card, King Island tickets, LEGO Castle, and more! All participants who met their goal get an entry to win a grand prize.
Grandview Heights Public Library
Theme: All Together Now
Dates: May 30 – July 31, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Use the App to track your reading online! Earn prizes by logging your reading, completing weekly challenges and attending events. Prizes include a coupons, books and more!
Southwest Public Libraries
Theme: All Together Now
Dates: June 3-July 30 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Register online or in person. Earn points for reading, completing missions and participating in programs. There will be in person performances, special programs and prizes!
Bexley Public Library
Theme: Read Together
Dates: June 2 – August 6, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Register online or in person. Download a reading tracker and Bingo Card. Track your reading in order to earn raffle prizes. There will be weekly programs for kids and adults as well as raffle prizes like Kings Island tickets, Zoombezi Bay tickets, movie passes, and more!
Upper Arlington Public Library
Theme: Let’s Celebrate
Dates: June 1 – July 31, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: stop by any Upper Arlington Public Library location to pick up a reading log. For each day you read, color an animal or list daily reading goals. Once you’ve finished your sheet, visit the library to receive prizes like coupons from local businesses, books, stickers and more raffle prizes!
Delaware County District Library
Theme: Camp DCDL
Dates: May 30 – August 12, 2023
Ages: All ages
How it works: Download the reading log or pick one up at your local branch to keep track of your reading. Read 12 hours throughout the summer and collect prizes at the 6 and 12 hour benchmarks.
Prizes include coupons, discounts and giveaways from local businesses. Adults can win prizes for reading books and attending programs. Check the link for special events taking place throughout the summer!
Pickerington Public Library
Theme: Summer Reading
Dates: May 27 – August 5, 2023
Ages: All ages
Summer Reading participants will earn prizes for every 10 days they read. Complete a whole 30-day reading log for a free book and entry into the grand prize raffle drawing. Teens who finish their reading log are also invited to the annual Teen Lock-In.
This year’s grand prizes include $50 gift cards, Nintendo Switch Lite, and more. There are prizes for those who register early, too!
