Family Friendly Things to do in Columbus This Weekend:

1. Show HeART for Hospice Patients with Seeds of Caring

Children ages 6-12 can engage in meaningful service from anywhere by creating beautiful works of heART. After a read-aloud story and age-appropriate discussion on grief created in partnership with OhioHealth, helping hands will make an art project that will be placed by the bedside of hospice patients. This project is ongoing until April 16, so kids can create as many mini-masterpieces as they’d like! 

2. Photos and Visits with the Easter Bunny at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing

Visit the Easter Bunny at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing beginning Friday, March 17th. Times are Monday through Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM and Sunday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

3. St. Patrick’s Kid’s Night Out: Sparkles the Unicorn at Busy Bees Pottery & Arts Studio

During this class, kids will learn to paint “Sparkles the Unicorn”. Class takes place on Friday at 5:30 PM. Kids can be dropped off, with minimum age being 6 years old and having completed Kindergarten. Tickets are available online.

4. Family Movie Night at Wesley Church of Hope

This free family-friendly movie night includes raffle prizes, free popcorn and bottled water. The event takes place on Friday at 6:30 PM. You can reserve your free spot online.

5. Shamrock Pizza Family Skate at Skate Zone 71

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green, playing trivia and skating! $15 admission includes your skate rental, a pizza slice and small drink. If you wear green, you get a free glow stick! This event begins on Friday at 6:30 PM.

6. Family STEM Day at Vineyard Columbus

This is a family-friendly STEM event at Vineyard Community Center. Cost is $5/child (discounts for additional children). This event takes place on Saturday at 10:00 AM.

7. Columbus Trading Card and Collectibles Show at Franklin County Fairgrounds

There is free parking and free admission for this trading card and collectibles show at the Franklin County Fairgrounds! There will be Pokemon, Digimon, Metazoo cards and more including collectible toys, games and more! The show takes place on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

8. Kids Scavenger hunt at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force

The family can participate in a fun scavenger hunt at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton! This event takes place on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

9. Leprechaun Lunch at Battelle Darby Nature Center

Bring your lunch to the Nature Center at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park and learn about clover and what eats it! Afterwards there will be a short craft! Ideal for kids 5 and up. This event begins at 12:00 PM on Saturday.

10. Kids Paint and Sip at Chef Hiro

This Kid’s Paint and Sip takes place on Saturday at 1:00 PM. All supplies are included in the ticket price including brunch and drinks. Tickets are available online.

11. Kids Slime Making & Acrylic Paint Pour Class at Terra Gallery

Kids will make slime and then create an abstract acrylic painting on Saturday at 1:00 PM. This class is for kids and teens of all ages. Tickets are available online.

12. Family Day! Magical Castle at Wine and Canvas Columbus

Kids and adults can enjoy this painting event featuring a Magical Castle. Recommended for age 5 and up. Tickets are available online. This event takes place on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

13. Birthday Balloon Magic with Erica Carlson at Main Library

On Saturday from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM at the Main Library, learn how to make basic balloon twists and create your own birthday balloon hat!

14. Community Concert–ProMusica at the Hilltop Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library

On Saturday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM enjoy a concert from ProMusica at the Hilltop Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library! This concert is all about discovering feelings and emotions in ourselves and in music.

15. Columbus Toy and Game Show at Ohio Expo Center

On Sunday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Ohio Expo, the Columbus Toy and Game Show takes place! Buy, sell and trade new and retro toys, video games and other collectibles. Kids 10 and under get in free.

16. Feed the Stream at Battelle Darby Nature Center

On Sunday at 1:00 PM, visit the Nature Center at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park to feed the creatures living in the living stream!

17. Black Joy: A Family Film Series – Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit

This series features a family-friendly movie on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM celebrating the Black experience. This weekend’s movie is Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. Tickets can be reserved online for free. Refreshments will available for purchase.

18. Buzzard Day at Blendon Woods Nature Center

Take a short hike to try to spot a turkey vulture! This event begins on Sunday at 2:00 PM and begins at the Nature Center at Blendon Woods Metro Park.

19. Hilliard Sunday Concert Series – Nacho Saxophones at Hilliard Branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library

On Sunday from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM enjoy a concert by the NACHO Saxadillas at the Hilliard Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This group is a saxophone quartet that plays to entertain, build community and raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
