3 Places I Love to Take My Kids in Columbus: Together Wee Grow

Each month I will be featuring a local parent who will tell us about three places they love to take their kids in Columbus!

This month Maureen and Megan, sisters who are also partners in the business Together Wee Grow, are partnering up to share 3 of their favorites with us this month!

3 Places We Love to Take Our Kids in Columbus: Maureen and Megan:

1. We Rock the Spectrum (Maureen)

This play cafe is conveniently located on Polaris Parkway. Our kids are always asking to go here and refer to it as the “Zip Line Place”. Everytime we are there, we are impressed with how friendly and inclusive the staff is and how clean the environment is. They have a variety of swings, a trampoline, a dramatic play area, special events with arts and crafts and of course a zip line.

We also had my daughter’s birthday party here, and they went above and beyond to make all the guests comfortable. They have a room which you can store your things and many tables and chairs for a place to sit down to have a snack or lunch. Be sure to check their Facebook page for special events like meeting princesses, zumbini classes or parents night out!

2. Graeter’s Little Pints Indoor Playground (Megan)

Have you been to the new Graeter’s on Bethel Road? The shop got an awesome upgrade and so did the play area! It is FREE indoor playground designed for children nine and under and is equipped with a separate smaller area for toddlers, a large ice cream slide, as well as a small merry go round.

Towards the back is an interactive area with scarves and tubes, as well as the original banana teeter totter! My kids can’t resist a kid’s sundae before we head out the door! Be sure to bring socks to play. They also have a private room for birthday parties as well, just like the old location. It’s a great spot for a rainy day or a day in the summer where the heat is too much!

3. Jungle Jack’s Landing at The Columbus Zoo (Maureen)

Did you know that in between the Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay is an area full of rides for kids? My kids are 6 and 4 and this is the perfect spot to take them for rides that doesn’t involve a road trip. You can purchase a Zoo- It- All wristband for $14.99 (sometimes on sale for $9.99). The wristband includes the camel and pony ride, the dinosaur ride, the 4-D movie, the train ride, carousel, and ALL of the Jungle Jack Landing rides.

There are several rides for those 36 inches and under, and a roller coaster, water ride, and two new rides in 2019 for taller kiddos. The swings are our favorite and the girls always pick this as a special birthday experience. A tip is to just buy yourself a few tickets, instead of the wristband if your kids are able to go on the rides themselves. It makes for a really fun day at the zoo!

Maureen and Megan are sisters who own Together Wee Grow, a company they began that focuses on helping mothers during the postpartum stage. They offer night nursing and postpartum doula services to families around Columbus. They have a passion for babies and helping new families, as they adjust to parenthood. They love to explore the great city of Columbus through their daughters eyes and find a new adventure each day!
