Cowling Park in London, Ohio is worth a road trip from Columbus! This accessible playground is fun for all!
We took a 30 minute trip to London to visit Cowling Park! This is a really super playground for kids of all ability levels!
Noah’s Playground at Cowling Park was named after an infant child who died at the home of his babysitter in 2016. One of Noah’s brothers has cerebral palsy and his parents gave money left over from his gofundme account to purchase accessible playground equipment for a park where kids of all ability levels could play!
Explore the Noah’s Playground at Cowling Park:
The park is a gem! It’s an asset to the community and worth the trip from Columbus to play!
The play area is covered by artificial turf which makes for a safer and softer play surface.
The Sway Fun glider is wheelchair accessible!
The park is full of different structures for kids to climb on, hide in and explore!
Toddlers will be intrigued by the hands on activities!
There is a play area for younger kids and toddlers! I love the ABC on the ramp! Also, there are structures that are great for older kids to climb with ropes and climbing walls.
There are a couple of areas with a music focus within the park. Kids that love to play musical instruments will enjoy these elements!
The park also includes an Oodles Swing that goes in many directions. It also has a ZipKrooz, a hanging zip line for kids of all ability levels to ride almost like a mini-roller coaster! My son had a blast on that thing!
The Paul Meadows London Express in Cowling Park will Delight Train Lovers:
In a separate (but walkable) area of the park, the Paul Meadows London Express (pictured below) was dedicated in honor of Paul Meadows, a former London firefighter to “continue his dream of giving toys to the children and watching the smiles on their faces as they play”.
The train was funded by his friends and family and built by Industrial Technology students from the London High School.
Where to Eat and Drink Near Cowling Park:
Before we hit up the playground, we stopped at London Coffee Peddler for coffee and a bagel. You can enjoy a range of coffee drinks and baked goods at this locally owned coffee shop in downtown London.
After the playground, we rounded out our visit to London, Ohio with lunch at Phat Daddy’s!
Phat Daddy’s came highly recommended from those in the know in London! We enjoyed their pizza and salad! We sat at the counter and loved the penny-topped countertop! Lunch combo specials are available or you can order a pizza to go!
Plan a trip to the accessible Noah’s Playground at Cowling park and then explore downtown London with a cup of coffee or lunch at Phat Daddy’s! You’ll have a great time and a memorable outing with the kids!

Loved the concept of an accessible playground for children! And, the fact that they used artificial turf to make a safer and softer play surface is amazing. This kind of surface eliminates any low or high spots in the impact layer and presents a beautiful landscape appearance.
