Looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend in Columbus? Try out one of these family-friendly Columbus and Ohiobased events and activities!

1. Lancaster Festival

The Lancaster Festival runs July 23-31 and includes musical performances, art activities for kids, family-friendly concerts, and more! Saturday is the Festival Fair Day at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds which features kid-friendly events all day including train rides, emergency vehicles, crafts, llamas and more! Adults are $5 and kids are free!

2. Visit a Farmers Market

Farmers Markets are popping up all over Columbus! Check out the link for a list of Farmers Markets for every day of the week!

3. Friday Fun Days at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum

Friday mornings from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM in July families can visit the National Veterans Memorial and Museum for $5/person and participate in family fun enrichment activities, take a private tour, speak with a Veteran and more! This program is designed for 4th – 12th graders.

4. KidX Summer Series 2021 at Polaris Fashion Place

Fridays from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM head to Polaris Fashion Place for KidX Summer Series! This Friday the theme is Heroes and Villains!

5. Final Food Truck Friday at the House for ’21 at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio

The final Food Truck Friday of the season includes Graeters, Loops and Cousins Maine Lobster! Hours are 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

6. Preschoolers: Creeking at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

Wade in the creek to discover critters that live there on Friday at 12:30 PM or 2:00 PM.

7. Secrets of the Park: Touch a Truck at Sharon Woods Metro Park

Learn about working in the Metro Park and meet the people and equipment behind the job. Touch and explore trucks, tractors and more! This event takes place on Friday between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM at the Schrock Lake Picnic Shelter.

8. Night Under the Stars and Movie at Wyman Woods Park

Set up a tent and sleep out in Wyman Woods on Friday night at 7:00 PM! There will be a campfire and snacks plus a movie at sunset. Register in advance by July 30.

9. Outdoor Movie Night at Linworth Road Church

This event features the movie Meet the Robinson’s. Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Movie begins around 8:45 PM on Friday.

10. FIT4MOM Columbus North’s Free Family Anniversary Party at Highbanks Metro Park

This is a free family event for anyone interested in FIT4MOM Columbus North! There will be a work out, playdate, giveaways and more on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 11:15 AM.

11. Family Fun Fest at The Crossing Community Church

This free event on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM features food, games, a bounce house obstacle course, a visit from firefighters and more! 

12. Monster Jam in Columbus at Nationwide Arena

Monster Jam is coming to Columbus! Show times are Saturday at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM and Sunday at 1:00 PM. Tickets available online.

13. Insect Chorus Walk at Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Learn about insects and then take a half mile walk to listen for them at 2:00 PM on Saturday!

14. Ohio Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission Family Day Festival

The festival kicks off with a presentation of the 2021 Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the event will feature family activity booths from COSI, Girl Scouts, Girls on the Run, Ohio Library and more! There will also be food trucks, live music, statehouse tours, and other family entertainment will occur throughout the day culminating with a free concert by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra at 5:30 PM.

15. Cardboard Boat Race at Grandview Heights Municipal Pool

Participate in a cardboard boat race across the Grandview Heights Municipal Pool on Sunday at 4:00 PM. Register by August 1. Spots are limited.
