What Should We Do This Weekend? June 19-21, 2020

Need something to do with the kids this weekend? Try out one of these 10 Columbus and Ohiobased activities with your family this weekend!

I am continuing to offer mostly at-home activities as well as things that are happening out and about around town! 10 Family Friendly Things to do this Weekend in Columbus, Ohio:

1. Draw a Bunny with Columbus Recreation and Parks

Take an art break to draw with Columbus Recreation and Parks!

2. Beat the Heat with Star Lanes

Every Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beat the Heat deal at Star Lanes Polaris. For $15 kids get a game of bowling + shoes, a free menu item from the kids’ menu,  and a $5 game card!

3. Read Charlotte’s Web with Stratford Ecological Center

Nothing like hearing Charlotte’s Web while amongst actual pigs! You can watch a chapter at a time courtesy of Stratford Ecological Center!

 

4. Join in the Homestead Series for Kids with Stratford Ecological Center

Speaking of Stratford Ecological Center, they are also offering an online Homestead Series for Kids! Want to learn about things like topics like gardening, cooking, and crafts? Click the link and then look through the comments within the event for links to the videos and more information!

 

5. Father’s Day Weekend Celebration at Tanger Outlets Jeffersonville

On Saturday and Sunday, families can take part in the putting challenge to win prizes at Tanger Outlet! If you spend at least $50 you can show your receipts for a free sleeve of Polo Ralph Lauren Golf Balls! 

6. Drive Through Pancake Breakfast

Take your pancake breakfast to go! Pay what you can to support the Weekend Food Pack Program serving Hilliard students with breakfast and lunch every week. Breakfast includes 3 pancakes and sausage as well as a code for free coffee from Coffee Connections!

7. Easton Sunset Series Drive-In at Easton Town Center

Drive in movies will be shown in the newest easton development east of Nordstrom’s parking lot. They will take place every night and you must purchase your ticket in advance! Cost is $10 per car. Movies for this weekend will be announced soon.

8. Parking Lot Cinema at the Marcus Pickerington Cinema

For seven days a week, Marcus Cinema Pickerington will be offering drive-in movies on the north side of their building. You can listen to the audio through your radio. Tickets and concessions are available in advance online. The food will be in a designated pick up area. Cash purchases will not be an option on site. There will be two movies night, the first one starting at 9:15 PM. Friday June 12 will begin The Goonies and Twister. Movies will change each Friday for the coming week. Cost is $25 per car during the week and $30 per car Friday through Sunday. 

9. Drive-in Zoovies at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium 

Watch a movie in the parking lot at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Movies will be played on Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM. A different movie will be played each night. Movies are currently scheduled into mid July. Cost is $30 per vehicle for non-zoo members and $25 per vehicle for Zoo members (includes one free bag of popcorn for members). Add on a Zooper Snack Pack for $20 which includes 4 bottled beverages and 2 bags of popcorn. 

10. Download and Color with Natterdoodle

Natterdoodle has created Social Change Coloring Pages that can be downloaded for free and colored at home! Yes, they are free, but when you download, consider making a donation to Black Visions Collective.
