12 Family Friendly Things to Do 4th of July Weekend in Columbus, Ohio:

1. Lights of Liberty Light Show

Celebrate the 4th of July with a drive through light show! Enjoy a patriotic, synchronized light show from the comfort of your own car! This show will be available July 1-5, 2020 from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM and the cost is $10/vehicle. The show is presented by the City of Westerville and the Rotary Club of Westerville, in partnership with Butch Bando’s Fanstasy of Lights and proceeds after costs of staging the attraction will be shared with Honor Flight Westerville and SEALKIDS. 2. KidX Summer Series at Polaris Fashion Place

This kid-friendly event takes place outside at the Lifestyle Center Fountain from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM on Fridays. This year the event will be a completely DRIVE-THRU event that includes music, crafts, characters and free ice cream! This week’s theme is Witches & Wizards

3. Visit the Paul Busse Garden Railway at Franklin Park Conservatory 

Opening July 1, 2020, this outdoor railroad will be on display in the Grand Mallway! The display is made from items found in nature, miniature garden, waterfalls and magical scenes! Also this Sunday is Community Days when Franklin County and City of Columbus residents get in free. You must purchase your ticket in advance to visit the Conservatory!

4. Independence Day Family Value Week at Young’s Jersey Dairy

Young’s Jersey Dairy is offering a Family Value Wristband for unlimited fun at the attractions at Young’s Jersey Dairy. Cost is $15 for ages 12 up and $9 for 11 and under. This year the special has been extend for 10 full days: June 26-July 5, 2020. 

 5. Drive-in Zoovies at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium 

Watch a movie in the parking lot at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Movies will be played on Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM. A different movie will be played each night. Movies are currently scheduled into mid July. Cost is $30 per vehicle for non-zoo members and $25 per vehicle for Zoo members (includes one free bag of popcorn for members). Add on a Zooper Snack Pack for $20 which includes 4 bottled beverages and 2 bags of popcorn. 

6. Outdoor Movie Night in Downtown Bellefontaine

Watch A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood outdoors in Downtown Bellefontaine on Friday night! Purchase your tickets by July 3! 

7. Obetz Fireworks

Obetz Fireworks will take place on July 4th with the goal of people being able to watch them from their homes, so if you live in the area, check the skies as they have ordered only high flying fire works this year and the show starts at 9:50 PM.

8. Hilliard Fourth of July Celebration

Hilliard’s 4th of July celebration takes place June 29-July 2 with neighborhood parades, an art competition, front yard parties and more!

9. Independence Day Neighborhood Parade in New Albany 

If you live in New Albany, check the link for the map of the Independence Neighborhood Parade! The parade begins at 10:00 AM!

10. Independence Day Neighborhood Jams in Gahanna

Check out one of 4 neighborhood parks for a country music concert! The first concert begins at 12:00 PM and the last one takes place at 4:30 PM. 

11. FREE FREEDOM RINGS! at Dublin Toy Emporium 

Sign up for a play time that includes a craft time, star hunt, prizes and a freedom ring toss on Saturday, July 4! (One family at a time.) Curbside pick up of the craft is also available! Make your reservations ahead of time! Animation Workshop

12. 2020 Reopening at the Ohio Railway Museum

Celebrate the reopening of the museum with free admission and $1 train rides! This special is only available on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
